All I want to do is just to rip a scene from a DVD. Make it into a AVI or MPEG or WMV. It doesnt really matter. I want to upload soemthing on youtube.

Not totally sure, but isn't uploading even a scene from a movie to youtube copyright infringement?
But considering that this probably *cough* isn't a commercial movie, dvdshrink is probably your best bet.

i want to upload a family guy deleted scene. it's Stewie's Folgers commercial. is that still copyrighted? if it is then i wont bother ripping.

dvd decrypter is probably your best bet. dvd shrink never worked on any of my computers.

DVD Shrink. I've had problems w/ DVD Decrypter not getting the audio to rip correctly, and it's off by a few seconds on long encodes.
DVD Shrink lets you re-author the disc to your hdd, and in my experience has a much better success rate at getting accurate/complete info off the disc.

I guess you should try both the Decryter and Shrink. Either will work for you, just depending on which one you like more.

Blaze is all in one and is easier than dvd decrypter (for me at least)

blazedvd works great and easy but its not free though. its a 14-day trial.... if only i can find the serial number. :)
