Here in Chicago, it was reported that a Best Buy got in a ton of Halo 2 Special Edition for $9.99. I just came back from that same Best Buy and I can confirm. They had a ton of them. Of course, YMMV. So, I guess you should go to your local BB and cross your fingers.

EDIT: Oh, and I noticed they had the regular edition of Halo 2 for $29.99. Ha.

Both. I already have the game, so I didn't buy it, but they have so many copies that there were several dividers on several shelves with the price tag clearly marked $9.99.

prob because u didnt have one of the few vid cards that it didnt like. even on my laptop sempron 3000+ 1.12gb ram, 128intel vid card it ran like a dog turd. my desktop is a dell p4 2.8, 1.5gb ram, 128 nvidia geforce 5200

Um... Sempron = competition for CELERON
128mb intel vid card most likely = shared memory.

It is no wonder that it runs like crap. I doubt the 5200 (the lowest DX9 card money can buy) can run the game very well.
