This game is absolute garbage. Not worth it unless it drops to $10.

I rented this from blockbuster and this game is so not worth $34.99 even with no tax and free ship.

might as well just do the trade 2 for 1 game deal

Back in the day, couldn't this be had for 29.99 when TRU.com had it for 39.99 and Google Checkout was used?
Either way, not that good of a deal today. Oh well. There's always tomorrow....

It's far cheaper to get Open Season and Far Cry used or from Best Buy with the $5 off coupons.

I bought it during launch fo $40, not too bad. Basically if you like Monkey Ball you'll definetly like this one (though going fast and slow it a testament to patience). Though some of the controls for the mini games take awhile to get used to is my main complaint...

The multiplayer games are atrocious, I do not reccomend this iteration of Super Monkey Ball at all.

I think that's what he might have meant.
Or he may of meant to do that deal with those two games and use it to get a better game, cheaper.

If that's the case, then I take that back. :P
But even then, that's probably close to the same amount he'd be paying for it on the DOTD. o_o;

This is pretty much my consensus. The game is fun and there are some really strong multiplayer mini-games in it. It's far from "perfect", but at this point--- everyone is still "seeing what it can do" in terms of the Wii.

Such a disaster of a game compared to Super Monkey Ball 2--I can't even count how many multiplayer games are literally unplayable.
I'd stay far away from this one until it hits about $10.

I bought this at launch for full price. It was a tossup between this or Ravng Rabbids. I think I made the wrong choice. Ive probably played this game for a total of less than 2 hours tho, so it may have redeeming qualitites that I didnt discover.
I tried to play multiplayer with friends, and we couldnt figure out how to control anything so we just went back to Wii Sports.

Kind of have to agree. The controls are pretty much crap.
Forunately I got mine with Monopoly points from BestBuy. :D

On the one hand, I agree that a good number of the minigames are unplayable. But on the other hand Super Monkey Ball 2 only had like 10 minigames and there are probably at least 10 good ones on there out of the 50. Maybe not the same quality, but still fun.
I'd still rank it under SMB2, but above SMB. The main game in this is pretty fun; I like the controls and the environments look good. The boss battles are kinda weird and unneccesary, but not altogether bad.
Maybe worth $35 max if you're a big SMB person.

This would be awfully tempting at $20, regardless of the reviews.

Am I the only one that actually enjoyed this game? While I didn't care for the mini games, the main game is pretty challenging.

Wait until the second Monkey Ball for the Wii. Sega will probably opt for a better controll scheme. Currently you hold the Wiimote in one hand and tilt it to move. Not a bad idea in theory, but you'll find that you probably have horrible fine motion controll.
Marble Mania and the Rollgoal mini game in ZeldaTP have you holding the Wiimote sideways in two hands, which lends itself to better control in these balance games.
It was a nice little launch title, but better options are already available.

I'm a huge SMB fan, but I just could not get into this game. I struggled with these controls for hours in single player, and I just didn't have fun. :( I'm still willing to give it another shot, though, but I doubt it'll make any difference..
Multiplayer also a huge letdown as well.. didn't really enjoy any of the minigames that I played (played most of them)

If I didn't already have this game, I'd be all over it at this price.
As far as multiplayer goes, I've never really looked to Super Monkey Ball to fill that need except when a couple friends and I tried out some Super Monkey Ball Deluxe games, which was pretty enjoyable. That said, the multiplayer aspect of this game is certainly disappointing, although not all the minigames are worthless. I would have gladly traded all 50 minigames for a true vs. mode of the single player game.
The single player game is fantastic and harkens back to the days of old in terms of difficulty. This is not a game that rewards you, you earn every world you unlock and you will not progress until you improve, it's as simple as that. I've unlocked all the worlds, and looking back at stages I thought were difficult in some of the middle worlds is kinda amusing since I can go through them without much trouble now.
The controls are very precise, but you're not going to be rolling around like a pro at the start. By the time you're rolling around in World 3 or 4, you'll have the hang of it. You won't be at that point until you do anyway. After using the Wiimote, I really don't wanna go back to an analog stick for this kind of game. I've still got to beat 10-5 before I'm done with the game, but despite any frustration I've had with a handful of stages and bosses, this thing was a hoot.
I'm not going to disagree with anyone about the multiplayer, but the single player game has been one of the most enjoyable times I've had with my Wii thus far. If you're willing to try and get better and you don't mind a game that requires increasing amounts of effort to beat, you can't go wrong with Banana Blitz.

I've played through to the last world and have 2 levels plus the boss left. It's been that way since about Jan and I doubt I'll ever finish since the last few worlds appear to be near impossible.
The game was actually pretty fun for the most part, but the controls make the game far harder than it would have been if you could have used the nunchuck.
The graphics are great. Everything is bright & colorful, crisp & clean. That's the one area that this game shines.
Multiplayer... they are OK. Suppose it depends on the type of multiplayer that you want. These are more arcade multiplayer rather than the silly multiplayer that you get with Warioware. And they aren't as original as the multiplayer stuff you get with Rayman.
Overall I'd say it would be a good buy at $20. I paid $30ish for it upon release thanks to Google's $20 off $50.

Bought this a while ago for $35 used. It's okay, but definitly not worth $35. $25 or lower it have been worth checking into.

I remember seeing this for 16.96 or something to that effect at Sam's Club. If you've got a membership and are interested, see if they have it near you.
