Yeah, it's a great receiver- gets really hot though so you need to put it in an open space.

Im not familiar with this model, but I have an Onkyo and couldnt be happier with it. They make high quality stuff for a mass market manfacturer.
Unless you were gonna go with ultra high end boutique brands, I'd take an Onkyo over a Sony, Kenwood, Pioneer, etc, any day of the week.

I dont think its a 'great' deal but from what i can gather its decent, you can also get this for the same price (not sure about shipping) from the club onkyo site

*sigh* that's not very good... i ran out of space in the TV stand. The PS3 needs space to cool too. I can disconnect the Apex dvd player to make room, but the damn Wii doesn't play dvds (the PS3 is avail to play dvd, but i mostly use it for BR and don't wann shorten the life of it on dvd).
As you can see, i got no space for the X360... The receiver suppose to replace my Insignia sound system (piece of *hit, what a rip off, no more Insignia for me), but there's no space for cooling...
Which forum should i visite often to "catch" a good deal on decent sound system? Since the price on this Onkyo is mediocre, i might just wait a little...
I read enough posts about the Onkyo product, so i'm pretty confident of my next purchase.

Well, you really need to make sure that whatever receiver you get, has nothing on top of it so that the hot air can exhaust out of it.
Plus, this receiver is huge which probably doesn't help your room issue.
Your best bet is to keep checking Fatwallet and Slickdeals, receivers don't come by too often but you'll see some from time to time.

I have this receiver and I spent about $150 from the Onkyo site for it. The component switching is pretty darn good, and I have no complaints about it.
It is, if not the best receiver in sub $200 IMO.
I know you can find a Harmon Kardon receiver for about that too, but I have had much better luck with Onkyo.

I got a Onkyo 5.1 receiver with some AV and Componet ports and it works great. While my parents had old Onkyo back from the early 90's that lasted for at least 10 years. I say get it since its on sale.
Just make sure you dont block the vents or you will definitely let it lose a few years.
