I did the cduniverse GCO thing to get diamond for $26.94. If they still haven't charged my card before this weekend I will try to buy it at CC and cancel my cduniverse order. If CDU already charged then I guess I will just wait for that order to come in.

If you're close enough to a Best Buy, you're probably better off asking for a Price Match at Best Buy than trying to go through the hassle of a Circuit City raincheck. Just bring the Circuit City flier (they have them in kiosks at the front of the CC store) to Best Buy and hand that to the cashier when you buy the game at Best Buy. They'll override the price and give you the Circuit City price.

I've done it many many times. Reward Zone points are FTW. But I may end up preordering at Circuit City for this one. I loves me some schwag.

One time a CC in my area sold out of a game that was on sale in the ad. I ask for a raincheck, but employee there said CC don't do raincheck. For sure, BB and Target do give rainchecks on sold out sales items.

If people think that you'll be able to use the GamePro or GGC with the two Wii games to get $10 off between the games and get the gift card, it's severe YMMV, if not impossible. BB seems to have fixed the register to not pony up the gift card if you use a coupon on the games that would give the GC.

All I wanted to do was grab my online in store pickup order, and I had to deal with a line of like 30 people wanting both Wii's, and Pokemon.

It was all 8 - 11 year old's, except for one creepy looking guy who bought 2 or 3 copies of Pokemon, and the cashier made fun of him.

Circuit City keeping new release games at customer serivce is fucking stupid... other people were getting pissed, because one lady was just there to pick up a television and had to wait 20 minutes in the "pokemon line".

I assumed they'd just throw them on the shelves like Best Buy and I could be in, out, and done in a reasonable amount of time.

I just got back from my local Target (Northridge, CA) and they put out (at least) 3 Wiis around 11am this morning. Of course I walked back by about 10 minutes later and 2 of the 3 were at the checkout counter being sold, but just a head's up that Target MIGHT have some. (They had a HUGE carton of nunchucks they were unloading when I left)

They were the first Wiis I have seen "in the wild"... pretty amazing.

I went to Gamestop today and bought Pokemon Pearl for $8.69 (tax included) with $27 in store credit that I had. Reading about the pm and $5 coupon at Best Buy has me thinking about returning my copy to Gamestop. Interesting day, went up to San Francisco from Sacramento for the Cherry Blossom Festival. We got up there around 8AM, ate at Denny's and since the festival didnt start yet, we took a walk up to the Circuit City there, and there was a line, about 20 people, nothin like what you would see at stores in Sacramento. Store opens at 10:10AM, people rush into the DS section and start looking for the Pokemon game. Its not there, someone go asks the clerk, and he brings back 2 copies... (really smart guy haha). So he goes to the back, and carries the Pokemon display out, and tells everyone the Pokemon games are here. I felt kinda sorry for him as most of the customers kinda bum rushed him before he finished his sentence. Pretty awesome day, picked up 3 copies (the other 2 were for friends), and met a bunch of avid anime/pokemon players at the festival.

I just picked up a DS Lite for a road trip and bought EBA for that reason. I wanted a new game with a fresh approach. EBA is all that and more. Very original game and so much fun. You'll never fully appreciate Chicago's "You're the Inspiration" until you play it in EBA.

The night clerk looked a little frazzled but she managed to find the pokemon games in the back and matched CC's price. I picked up 4 copies for me and my kids and a copy of Sims 2 Seasons. Was home and playing the new pokemon game by about 12:30. Thanks again to Speedy for the heads up on this and to CC for having the game on sale. My experience with the pokemon games is that if you don't take advantage of the deal in the first week they are out, you are going to be waiting a long time until they come down again.

Caving to the crushing weight of Pokemon even if it's because I know I'll really want it at some point and this is probably the best price I'll get. Now I have to figure out which version. Always gotten the blue version in the past, or silver since that seemed to be the blue version, but hmm can't decide.

Suppose I may as well stick to my guns since now a days I can just fire up the wi-fi to get the red versions critters and don't have to conduct some shady hook up with an 8 year old in a dank alley.

Offhandedly are the cartridges still appropriately colored? If so I suppose I couldn't sully my pristine white import with a bright red cartridge.

I picked up Pearl today. I was surprised to see that my CC still had plenty of copies left. I dunno why I picked Pearl, I guess it just had a cooler looking Pokemon on the front. My girlfriend was with me and couldn't believe her 23 year old boyfriend was buying Pokemon. I was messing with her all day about it, heh.

I'm happy with it though, it's pretty fun.

The, I'm assuming, manager who rang me up was surprised the still had any as well. Had to get the section guy to get me one from the warehouse and it took about 20 minutes so I don't know if they just got that in or what.
