The items listed below are as they appear in the Fry's B&M Ads. If an item is listed as "SJ only", for example, it could still be on sale at other locations (i.e. - Austin, San Diego, AZ, GA, IN, NV, OR, WA), but it only appeared in the SJ ad. However, since these ads are not available online, I cannot confirm them.

If you have an HD player, you're going to buy the HD version. If you don't...why spend an extra $10 for a movie that MIGHT be useful in future players? The benefit of the combo only comes about when people are fairly certain that HD DVD will win the format war.

Blu-Ray can't support a combo format (or at least they haven't announced that they can). Yet, this doesn't seem to have hurt it...latest numbers continue to show that Blu-Ray is slowly gaining momentum over HD DVD.

And to add a Fry's slant to this...I think it's fairly clear to me that Fry's has subtly chosen a side...they consistently have more sale prices on Blu-Ray movies than HD DVD. Of course that could also just be because Blu-Ray has more titles than HD DVD.

FWIW, the HD DVD and Blu-Ray versions of Payback are the "Straight Up Director's Cut" of the movie.

From what I've read, the changes are very significant. To the point that if you want more of the version you saw on TV, you may not get it.
