I always wanted to buy something but don't know if the product is guranteed or the sellers can get your credit card number or something. I think it would be safer than ebay but I dont know help me out.

From everything I've read, amazon is always pro-buyer, so if you have a problem they will more than likely take your side.
From experience though, I normally just buy from people with decent feedback. Each semester I tend to get at least one textbook from amazon, no problems thus far.

If you're worried about credit card numbers, go to a Coinstar machine that accepts cash and can print out Amazon gift certificates. I do that for every Amazon purchase I make. It works on marketplace stuff, too, which may be a good way for the OP to feel 100% safe.
It's also good to know what Amazon's pro-buyer.
the seller doesnt get your credit card number, only amazon.
Amazon is not always pro buyer. As a seller I can think of a few times where amazon is on my side.

I've bought a few games from sellers. Never had a problem. Like 62t says, your credit card info is only seen by Amazon, so it's safe.

I've ordered many times from sellers on Amazon and never had a single problem... until yesterday. About 3 weeks ago I ordered a G.I. Joe Season 1 , Part 1 DVD set. It took a while to get here, but I wasn't too bothered since the seller responded to my emails. However, yesterday I received 4 DVD-Rs, labeled "G.I. Joe 1-4". I emailed Amazon right away and they let me know that I should receive a refund in 1-2 weeks, the typical time they take to review a case. I'd say that your probably a lot safer buying on Amazon than you are buying on eBay and having to deal with them/Paypal.

I sold a sealed .hack part 4 to a buyer, and the buyer email me back saying there is 2 CD-R inside. The seller file a claim but he never got his money back. On the other hand got a full refund when I brought something and the seller send in the incorrect version.

Only thing you shouldn't buy from Amazon sellers (or anyone besides an actual company for that matter) is memory sticks.
I bought a 4GB Mem Stick Pro Duo for my PSP, and it was fake.
I ended up getting a refund though, but the guy kept threatening me if I didn't send it back, so I didn't ;)
