I'm going when my store opens in an hour. I'm going with my expectations low so as not to come back disappointed if there's nothing there. Good luck to everyone.

My CC's told me that they weren't going to get a restock - everything on the $5 rack or bin is all there's going to be....maybe they were holding out on the good stuff?

I'm going to go in about an hour (an hour before it opens) with a friend to hopefully beat the crowd and get some good games. I just really hope that the games that I want will be there seeing as this week has been pretty sh*tty for me so far.

I'll be heading out in about 2 and a half hours, before the store opens. I'll probably see the same people I saw there last week. Hopefully it's replenished, but I seriously doubt it.

I'm going when it opens around 11. I would be happy if I find even one game that I want. I'm not expecting much.

I went last Sunday when they opened and picked up 6 games. I was the only person even looking at games the whole time I was there. I got all the games I could find that I thought I would actually play.

I then went Tues afternoon and didn't find a thing, even the ones I didn't want I couldn't find.

I'm expecting to find a bunch of old sports games this morning but I have to go just to be sure.

My store opens at 10 (its almost 8:30 my time). I'll leave in about an hour. I plan on getting there 15 min. before it opens.

It will be interesting to see:
1) how many people are there at opening
2) how many games (and quality) that they have
3) how they display them
4) if there is a fight to get them
5) what I can get

I'm one of the lucky ones on this sale . . . I scooped up some great games on the evening of the 3rd (because of CAG!).

The following games mentioned are not for trade . . . see my tradelist
http://www.cheapassgamer.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=21348

I already got Disgaea, RAD, Marvel vs. Capcom, Dark Cloud 2, Mega Man x7, Ikaruga via trade, kiddie games for my son (odd parents, Jimmy Neutron etc) . . . so anything I get today will be a bonus.

I'm looking for odd stuff like Ghoulies, Aqua Aqua, Serious Sam, Star Wars Racer, Wreckless PS2,

Some I will pay $5 for but the extra $2.50 of a trade knocks them out of possibility . . . pretty weird.

I'm gonna go but there's about a 95% chance they'll have nothing. Unless they pulled stock (which my CC is too uh, let's saying couldn't-care-lessish to do...) then it's cleaned out. I got 12 games last Sunday and by Tuesday when I went back they had nothing but sports games out in the bin.

I think I'm buying a projector any way so the trip won't be a total loss.

My local CC has already been picked to the bone, with no more to be added. It's so weird though, as just one week ago they had almost everything on the huge list, and now there is just nothing left hardly.

I couldn't believe that EVERYTHING sold out so quickly.

I don't know but it sounds like mine got shipments that they have held . . . I think it will be the really crappy stuff no hot titles. Mine will have nothing to pull its been picked clean.

Mine opens at 11. I thought my alarm was set for 10:30, since my CC is literally a block or two away from where I live (plan was just to roll out of bed and roll out)...turns out the alarm was set for 8:30 instead. So now I'm awake for another two hours of anticipation...and I still think I won't find anything.

I'll be leaving my house at about 10:30 so I can get to CC early and wait for it to open. I'm also curious as to how many people will be there looking for games. Hopefully they're cool and will help each other find games. I just want Roadkill and Secret Weapons Over Normandy.

07-11-2004, 10:06 AM
Considering that the stores in my area all got an e-mail telling them to start the sale early (friday), I highly doubt any of them are going to have anything. Even those stores that told me on Tuesday that they were pulling off the shelves for Sunday, re$$$$ed on that when they put out all the stock Friday. I can only hope that they were lying (as 2 stores had squat on Friday while the other 2 had a ton) or some of the rumors about getting additional stock for Suday's sale is true. I'll be going mostly to see what kind of line there is at the store and to get answers on those questions about if they were holding back. Good luck everyone.

I was there when the doors opened along with about 20 other kids/teens. All I can say is I sure am glad I was there last weekend and picked up 14 games because they had NOTHING today. No restock or anything. It was really bad. They had these 3 big display bins that were almost empty, MAYBE 10 games each in there, almost all of which were old sports games. It was so sad and I really feel bad for the employees working in the video game section today because I am sure they will be reemed all day long for CC putting out an add like that with no merchandise. Guess that's what they get for having a sale a week early when it's NOT in the ad, then posting it in the paper a week late. :?

Good god there was a mass of people in daytona. They had restock, but it was nearly wiped out by the time I got there(11:05). I did get something that hadn't been on the list - Romance of the Seven Kingdoms 7.

Nothing at Deptford, NJ. One guy that was standing outside with us said they put the bin out Wednesday. So needless to say, they only had a few crappy games left for today. I didn't even get my Roadkill, it was the game I wanted the most

Just got back from the Easton (Columbus, OH) CC. Got there at 11:10am. Only really looking for Xbox games. If you like Kabuki Warriors, check it out :)

Maybe had 4 other Xbox titles. 80-90% of what they had was PS1 stuff.

What a yawner. The only game I considered getting was Tony Hawk 3. The other Xbox games they had were sports woth one copy each of NHL 2002 and NBA 2k2 and NBA 2002.

Lame!

I loved hearing the manager strategize out loud about how he was going to place the bins for maximum exposure. Like it was his goal to say "Look at all the crap games we have."

Just got back from Mt. Laurel, NJ and they had squat. What really pissed me off was that a few of the games in the $4.99 bin I was going to get didnt even ring up at $4.99! I think the CC cashier was a moron, because of course she scanned the old $20 price tag still on it instead of punching in the game's sku or whatever to see what it came up as...

I ended up with MLS Extra Time 2002. (I mean, I had to get SOMETHING)

well nothing for me...circuit city here in miami sucks ass....i got there before 11 and there were already nerds outside waiting with their laptop and their little lists...as cc was opening right off the bat they told everyoen that mostly all the games are sold out already but you can go look if you want...ofcourse nothing..only ps1 games..

i was kinda happy when i saw the goons pick up like 6 sword of mana's for gba only for the cashier to tell them its 29.99 or w.e,,..their plans of selling for profit went down the drain

The CC in Charlotte has barely anything (nothing all that great). All the games were on an end section near games. My brother and I picked up five things:

Nascar Dirt to Daytona (GCN)
Fear Effect 2
Gauntlet Dark Legacy (PS2)
Yanya Caballista City Skater
XBox Exhibition 5 (not part of the sale, but $5 all the same)

All they had left were a few Yanyas, NBA Courtside, two copies of Fur Fighters on the PS2, and a bunch of old PS2 and PS1 games not worth mentioning. Unless you must have Fur Fighters I'd recommend saving the gas and not going up there.

well, some as shole cleaned out my CC today. they said some guy was waiting for them to open, then bought about 50 games. i'm sad to find out lessons this week on greed being harmful had no effect on some people. this jerk, for his own personal happiness, just took away from the happiness of me, and probably a dozen other people. i was only going there for three games, and this guy did the perfect american spirit: take whatever you can, Hell who it hurts. yep, that's how to make the world a better place. thanks jerk! i think these people who have so much greed will be our next Donald Trumps and evil overlords of the earth. they are getting an excellent start down that road.

Went to the one in King of Prussia PA; All they had were poop games; I searched around, got Metal Gear Substance for the Xbox for 5, also got the tetris/clone wars for a penny, not bad, not great...I made up for it by switching a price tag at the blockbuster next door, ended up getting the Vice city double pack for 16 bucks...So not a total waste...I did hear rumors of a restock but I doubt it will happen...

hi there.......just wanted to point out that the stores will never be getting a restock of the closeout $4.99 games so if you dont see it today or last week for that matter, you will never find it at circuit city. But......circuit city has always had a smaller selection of games (in millbury neway). Thats all for now, hope to read some more good posts from everyone:-)

a restock is still possible. maybe later on in the day.

I wouldnt be surprised if someone discovers a load of new games this aftnernoon at one of the CCs.

Give it the hell up! They don't call it a *clearance* just to turn around and restock.

What the hell is wrong with you people?

I'm going by what some CC employees on various sites, including this one, have told us. Yeah some said no restock but others did, and some did pull games off of shelves and put them in the back.

Just because the games weren't there at 1000am or 1100am this morning doesnt mean it won't happen. Who knows, maybe they'll bust out the carts from the backroom during peak hours? Attract more customers? I dont know.

I'm not saying they'll restock for sure, but seeing as there are like a million CC inthis country I said I wouldn't be surprised if someone out there finds something good!

What's wrong with you!

My CC didn't have much, as expected, but I still picked up
Defender (PS2)
Spyhunter 2 (PS2)
Disney Skate Adventures (PS2)
Fear Effect 2 (PS1)

I then went to EB and traded in Defender, Spyhunter 2, and Disney Skate Adventures, along with Breath of Fire 5, Disaster Report, and Hitman 2 for three $20 off preorder deals. I preordered GTA SA, Pikmin 2, and Tales of Symphonia. I had already preordered Tales of Symphonia once before, but the guy told me I could do the deal twice as long as it was in separate transactions. So the deal wasn't a total loss even though I didn't get any of the games I wanted (except Frequency).

Absolutely nothing here in Orlando, FL. It was really quite depressing actually. The "bin" was a small square cart with 2001 sports games and demo discs. The only thing worth picking up was Summer Heat Beach Volleyball but I passed. Oh and Tekken 3 did not ring up as $4.99. Yet the online store was selling it for that price. WTF?

My Circuit City had a few new games, I had been there twice this week already, and I was able to get Tony Hawk 3 and Dave Mirra 2. I also was about to buy Alter Echo, Turok, and Starsky and Hutch for 4.99 but they all rang up for 10 bucks, even though they were in the bin.

Another thing, on the shelf, they had a lot of the Star Wars titles for Xbox that were on the list, but none of them were in the bin.

This was the HARPER WOODS location in Michigan.

Hi guys!

Today, I learned how greedy and selfish some people can be.

I just got back from the CC in NE Philly (Bustleton) and it was a madhouse. Some guy pushed and shoved people to get over 100+ games. He said he is going to sell them for $10 each. What an a-hole. They should have kicked his ass out for being a reseller. What if a small kid was there? He would have got hurt thanks to the 30-40+ people fighting over the $4.99 bin. I only got two games from the deal.

They are:

DDR Konamix (PS1)
Onimusha 2 (PS2)

Nothing good was left. So, for anyone planning to go the Bustleton CC in NE Philly today, don't bother. The greedy folks cleared them out of the good titles within a half-hour. I guess I'll look for the games I want to get on CAG or ebay.

Just came back from the CC on Southside in Jacksonville, and it was pretty cleaned out, mainly old sports games. I saw a few PS2 games like Castlevania, but I don't own a PS2, so I didn't pay much attention. Didn't look like any restocking to me for what its worth.

That is your defense? That somewhere at sometime, someone is going to find something good.

Well, I want to make a similiar and just as informational observation. I predict that somewhere, right now, someone is touching water that is wet. I heard it on the Internet, but some people said it wasn't true. So this is definitely a YMMV.

Would you just let people face the truth. Your bs about a restock is no more likely than the tooth fairy filling the bins with great titles.

Vestal, NY had two of the 4.99 bins, but all the good games were already picked over last week. I saw some games that were in the bins that were on the shelf last Sunday, but were not on the shelf later in the week. So they must have pulled them specifically for the sale.

I picked up:
ZOE: Fist of Mars (GBA)
Mad Maestro (PS2)
NBA Courtside (GC)
NHL Hitz 2003 (GC)
NFL Blitz Pro (Xbox)
MVP Baseball 2003 (Xbox)

Other games I remember seeing:
Men in Black II (PS2)
Spy Hunter 2 (Xbox, PS2)
Kabuki Fighters (Xbox)
Starsky and Hutch (Xbox)
X2: Wolverine's Revenge (Xbox)
NHL Hitz 20-02 (Xbox)
NCAA Football 2003 (Xbox)
Rally Fusion (Xbox)
Universal Studios (GC)
Legends of Wrestling 1 (GC)
Wrestlemania XIX (GC)
NBA Street (GC)
Super Duper Sumos (GBA)
Ready to Rumble 2 (GBA)
He-Man (GBA)
ESPN Track & Field (GBA)
Space Channel 5 (GBA)
Turok Evolution (GBA)

And a bunch of PS1 games, but nothing that stood out.

Well, it was fun while it lasted.

Unfortunately I wasn't able to get to the CC in Parkersburg WV until 11:10. As I walked in I could already see a crowd of people back where I knew the $4.99 bin would be. There were mostly kids and moms picking up tons of games, all of which were crap. They had 2 bins set up, one with GBA games and the other with GC, X-Box, and PS2 games.

Being a GC and GBA gamer, I went to check for GC games first. In the whole bin I'd say I ran across maybe 5 GC games total, all of which were crap. I remember Turok and an old All-Star Baseball game being two of them. I can't even remember the others. I then checked the GBA bin which had quite a few games but all of which were crap. My wife and daughter did grap 4 of them (Harry Potter, Mickey Mouse, Arcade Classics, and Harry Potter GBC).

I then went and checked the shelves but no luck there either. It was obvious they had pulled these games from the shelves earlier in the week and just held them for today because they had nothing new from last Sunday.

I'm so glad I went last Sunday morning. I was the only person in there and actually got some decent games (Megaman Network Transmission, RE: Code Veronica, P.N. 03, Mario Party 4, Bomberman Generations, and Chu Chu Rocket). The only bad thing is that now when you see games on sale for $15 or $20, it's not nearly as enticing as it once was.

The bins were out today. The employees hid the games in the back last week. I Knew that the store had some good titles: DOA:X, Viewtiful, Disgaea I'm sure of, but some greedy employees got to them before we had a chance. The bins were out this morning and I got 7 games. Nothing spectacular, but a good haul nonetheless. You're likely not to find and good GCN or Xbox games, but there are stil some good PS1, PS2, and GBA games left.

EDIT: WhoDey... that's ironic that we were both there at the same time. You missed the first wave of people at the bins; those kids got there late. We got most of the better titles out first. Did you happen to get Viewtiful Joe or DOA:X?

I went to the Salisbury, MD location this morning. It was the first time I hit it because normally it's about 2.5 hours away from me but this weekend I was in the area. I got there just as the store was opening. There were no people in line and I was the only person in the video games department for about 5 minutes! While there was nothing rare, I did have some good finds. All told I picked up 6 titles today.

From the bins:

Chu Chu Rocket (GBA)
Space Channel 5 (GBA)
ZOE: The Fist of Mars (GBA)
Resident Evil Gaiden (GBC)

From the shelves, my best finds of the day:

War of the Monsters (PS2)
Dragon Warior 7 (PSX)

The bins had a lot of sports titles but still had some decent GBA titles like Gradius Galaxies and Air Force Delta Strike which I passed on. I have a feeling that store was a virtual goldmine last Saturday and Sunday though.

It was funny, a young couple and their kids were at the bins complaining about the "poor selection." Little did they realize the selection was just a little better last week at this time.

Milbury MA CC had nothing, as expected. Their tiny little bin had next to nothing in it, not even sports games. I found a Spy Hunter 2 for the PS2 that wasn't in the bin, so I grabbed that, plus an old PS1 Megaman game for my son. There were a few other people there with lists in their hands, but most of them walked away with nothing.

Just to add insult to injury, here's a conversation between me and my wife before we packed up the kids and left for CC this morning:

Me: So you're sure CC opens at 10:00?
My Wife: Yes. They open at 10:00 every day.
Me: Even Sundays?
My Wife: EEVVVEERRRYY DAAAYYYYY.
Me: Maybe I should call them, just to make sure.
My Wife: (Exasperated) Fine, go ahead. Call them.
Me: What would be so bad about calling, just to make sure?
My Wife: I just told you they open at 10:00. If that's not good enough for you, then call them.
Me: (Thinks about wife in pissy mood all day if I call and they say 10:00) OK, I won't call. Let's just go.

So we get there and.......yup, open at 11:00 on Sundays. Nice. So we walked around the Target store that was two stores down in the mall for 50 minutes, then went back and waited. Did I rub it in her face that I should have called ahead? Let me just say that if you're asking that question, you're not married.

My local CC (Bangor, ME) had 2 bins. The only decent things they had were

- Wrestlemania XIX (1 copy left maybe?), Already picked it up last week anyways.

- Haven

- Robotech (picked a copy up)

- Virtua Fighter 4 (grabbed the last copy I think)

Everything else was pretty much old GBA and PS1 games. Also a shitload of old 2002 sports games for GC,Xbox, and PS2.

They had a couple decent ones on the shelves, but they didn't ring up as $4.99....

Basically it's just the leftovers. Don't bother going again if you've already gone. :(

Since they've been selling the product, and not trying to use it to "bait and switch" I'd love to see you prove intent. Just because something hits an ad paper doens't mean that the sale/promo wasn't preexisting the ad. CC didn't prevent the sales of the 5 dollar games, so proving intent would be a very difficult case to prove.

I swear, every time someone doesn't get something on sale that they want they start to bitch about "bait and switch". It's only bait and switch if they try to show you an alternative that is only "a little bit more money".

http://www.ftc.gov/bcp/guides/baitads-gd.htm

Read through this.

This point is very salient:
(c) The failure to have available at all outlets listed in the advertisement a sufficient quantity of the advertised product to meet reasonably anticipated demands, unless the advertisement clearly and adequately discloses that supply is limited and/or the merchandise is available only at designated outlets,

You've been notified. There is no onus on them to provide you wares if their legal staff correctly documents the ad. They did.

Of course, bait and switch will still be the pacifier, baby blanket and mama's teet all rolled into one for the whiny people who are all hacked off that they are "a day late and a dollar short".

I'm really curious what people actually expected. I mean really, it's not at all wise to expect that you're going to be getting the cream of the crop games... it's a clearence sale for goodness sake.
All the whining is getting really annoying.

I went to two Circuit Cities today. The one near Chapel Hill Mall in Ohio, and the one in Canton Ohio. At Chapel Hill Mall, I saw a man tossing random GBA games into a basket. What an ass. But, if he wants ten copies of Super Duper Sumos, I guess that's his business. Anyways, I found there:

+Shit
+Shit
+Shit,
and to my surprise
+Shit

So then I go to the CC in Canton Ohio, expecting shit, when I find:

+Shit!
+Shit

+And Disgaea

That is, if Diagaea is another way of saying shit. Oh well, I'm still happy that I got some games last week. THANK YOU CAG!!

And you told me it was annoying to hear people bitch about the whiners!!!

I agree with you though.

I think of it as this. Each CC probably only had %20 of the games that were $5. Maybe 2-5 copies of each game they had, so probably 200-300 max for each store. Of those, maybe 75 were good titles.

Dadeland Fl has little to nothing, a few sports games and 1 tekken 3, but on a side note i did find out where the games went. A group pf Gamestop employees in conjunction with CC employees cleaned out the store prior to the sale last week buying 46+ games a visit. and then trading them in all in back into the gamestop. I saw this 1st hand when i went to Gamestop after my CC visit.

I agree with you though.

You know, I wish it didn't come to this, but people have been bitching all week, and uber-bitching this morning. I just can't take it anymore. If you can't live with the simple facts of how clearences work, don't bother trying to be a cheapass.. you don't have the disposition for it.

Chicago, IL suburbs are wiped out. No recent restocking of any titles whatsoever.

Schaumburg = wiped
Mount Prospect (Randhurst Mall) = wiped
Hawthorne/Libertyville = wiped
Deer Park/Killdeer = wiped
Spring Hill = LOTS of old sports titles, but otherwise wiped.
Crystal Lake = wiped

I did manage to find Splinter cell GC and Sega GT 2002 at the Randhurst CC, but that is the extent of it.

Almost all of the CCs around me set up the white 4.99 boxes earlier in the week, and they are now all basically empty.

The thing that struck me funny were the new plastic placards holding a corporate memo which basicaly read: "Dear CC Customers: Please note the $4.99 clearance sale is limited to titles IN STOCK and on hand. No Rainchecks. Please accept our apologies and sorry for the confusion -- as a Circuit City customer, we value your business." (not verbatim)

I read this memo as saying: "We're sorry that the prices went into effect one week early, but there's nothing we can do about our current shaq-fu selection." They probably had to act fast to type/print/mail these out in order for the CCs in my area to effectively cover their respective butts.

I did see a number of people walking around with the multi-page internet master list, with scowls on their faces.

what i don't understand is why they're not dropping the prices on the oldest games like DOA 2: Hardcore. and then the poorest selling games like Unlimited Saga are still $15 or $20. besides these, i wanted Goblin Commander, which is still high in price.

Yeah, not all of the clearance games were at the $5 price. Primal is still $27.99, PSO Episodes 1 & 2 (XB) is still $13.99, that Mickey Mouse Capcom GC game is still $19.96, and Hunter the Reckoning Wayward is still $13.99 or $9.99. These games I would've thought for sure would be $5.

Did you get any GC or GBA games today? And was there a line to get in?
There was a line, but it was short and I got there as they were letting people in. I didn't get any GCN games as they were all crap, but I did pick up the only copy of F-Zero for the GBA. Oh, did you get the copy of Skies of Arcadia that had been there? I luckily already have a copy, but I was going to pick it up for a buddy if they still had it.

No, didn't see anything near that quality for the GC. Luckily, I already have it too. Of course they had it last week when I was there so I could have gotten it then.

I'm happy because I got everything I wanted last week as far as what they had. I was hoping they might have gotten some new games sometime during the week for the sale but it's obvious they didn't.

Next time they do this we'll have to look out for each other as I probably could have scored you some games (like VJ) had I known what you were looking for.
Yeah, man, that'd be good--I live a few towns away in Ohio so it was a hour drive for me this morning, so I can't check CC too often. It's funny, actually, as I was there at the same time as you.

Go read one of Shakespears threads.. Gamerushes are great for getting for getting games that were new releases a month or so ago. EB and such will still be selling them for 34.99+, but with the deals they have at Gamerush you can usually get them for about 20 each or less.

Gamecrazy is ok, but it's hit or miss. They'll sometimes be overpriced or underpriced (got suikoden 2 for 24.99), and they flat out suck at getting in new releases.

All my CC's were empty as exptected (Columbus OH). I already got the best of the lot last weekend and then again on Friday when the bins went out. However, I found the following titles on the shelves. Burnout, Timesplitters 2, Frequency, Jedi Outcast, Star Wars Obi-one. Most of which I had already bought last weekend. Well I went to get a couple I didn't have and none of them rang up 4.99. ALL of them had stickers over the UPC symbol. I told the guy that they would ring up as 4.99 if he rang up the UPC symbol under the sticker, but he said no all the 4.99 games were in the bin. The bin had only old sport games. Funny how just seconds before I got those games, I had put down Freedom Fighters after noticing the sticker on the back, and the employee actually picked it up and put it behind the register. I only assume for him later. He knew what was going on, but for some reason the store restickered ALL the decent 4.99 games. What a farce. Glad I got my fill already.

My CC (Savanah, GA) was a circus...

There was a line when I got there, just a few people... but as soon as I stood by the door, like 5 more cars pulled in, some with couples and one with like 6 guys all clearly in search of the bargin games. The guys in front of me had obviously been hunting stuff all week and were comparing notes and accomplishments. The people behind us all seemed to have just caught wind of the deal.

Once the doors opened it was on, people walked calmly to the game section but as soon as they hit those bins, the serenity ceased. There was one bin for GBA games and another for PS2/XBOX games... but no bin for GC games. This, along with the fact that they were stupid enough to place the PS2/XBOX bin right next to their unmarked "value games" bin created a lot of confusion and chaos.

People were snatching up games from the value bin like they won the lottery, while others (myself included) searched in vein for a Gamecube bin... only to find that a few craptastic games were still on the shelves unmarked (except LOTR: TTT.. but since I already had that I pointed it out to a guy who seemed pretty lost)...

I was lucky enough to hit the GBA bin before it got raped. I walked away with these games:

All-Star Baseball 2003
Iridion 3-D
Legends of Wrestling II
Justice League Chronicles
Donald Duck Advance
Duke Nukem Advance
Stuntman

While I'm not sure any of these are that good, I needed just about anything GBA related as I bought my first one (the retro edition) last month and only had Mario Bros. to play on it.

I also picked up X2 Wolverines Revenge... quite frankly.. because it was there. The sales person that was there on thursday bullshitted me and said "We have a whole crate of GBA games in the back and a lot of Gamecube too... Xbox and PS2 is pretty picked over though" ... so I had come with my mind set on getting at least one GC, and for better or for worse I did.

As I was leaving, hell seemed ready to break loose... people were bringing up the stacks of value games that were NOT 4.99 (as we learned throughout the week) and the cashiers ran around trying to figure out how to stop people from mistakenly taking value games. Kids were mad that they went up with a stack of games and none of them counted, and parents were even more pissed because they had driven them there, and watched as other people left with the majority of the RIGHT games. It was a powder keg and it'll surely get worse as the day gets on... that's it for me with this sale, it was fun while it lasted.

If you think it was crazy at the stores today, just think how it would've been had the sale gone down as planned. It would've been a madhouse as the Internet savvy and the general public descended on the hapless CC's in search of Disgaea's and Viewtiful Joe's at the same time. Of course, probably none of the quality titles would have been available to the general public as the employees would've snatched them all.

I went to the Greenwood, Indiana (Indianapolis) store this morning, and they had three bins filled with nothing but CRAP; basically, all old sports games and demo discs. I looked through the shelves and found virutually nothing, save for Maximo, which I was happy with at $5. I think it's safe to say that store is completely wiped clean of good deals.

I was in Cincinnati yesterday, and hit two CCs while I was there visiting relatives. The best store was over in the Western Hills area - they had tons of stuff still on shelves. Nothing too fantastic, but I did find a few things: Alien vs. Predator (PS2), Track & Field (PS2, never even knew this existed!), Oddworld (Xbox) and for the GBA, Disney Magical Quest, MOH: Underground, and 007 Nightfire.

If you're in the Cincy area, I would try that store, and avoid the Tri-County store, which had nada.

Here is my haul today

All this is from the Arden CC in Sacramento Ca

PS1 - Megaman x6, Blaster Master, GTA Collectors' Edition

GBA - Simpson's Road Rage, Medabots (Roshku(sp?) version I THINK), Pinball of the Dead, Legend of the River King 2

GC- Slubfest 2003

Not too shabby for a week after the sale started, couldn't beleive river king, megaman, and pinball were in the bin.

A note for the 2 people here that went to Burlington, MA: They did have copies of Konami Arcade for the GBA on the shelves that are $5, and if you take the stickers off that are over the upc on Virtua Fighter 4, it might ring up $5. And they had Shrek Super Party, ATV Offroad Fury 1, Evolution Snowboarding, and Drome Racers for PS2. Xgra, Tetris for Xbox. And... And... Oni. What a load of crap.

Thanks for the heads up but I don't think I'm going to go back there anytime soon. Definitely a load of crap.

The CC at Richmond, CA has to take the take for the lamest sale ever. Pretty much all the games are 2001-2002 Sport Games. I bought several games from the list posted on another thread and they still ring up at their original price.

Hey, a local! I don't see many of those very often. Yeah, that CC was totally wiped out for quite a while, glad I got in last Saturday Night and got a bunch of the stuff I wanted.

I went yesterday, and there was a LOAD OF CRAP. Just like 50 2001-2002 sports games. I went again today at 10:10 around 10 minutes after it opened. There were about 5 people around the bins, thats all, I was sort of happy when i saw there was a bunch of games like 100 or so. Then I saw there were even bigger loads of crap, more crappy sports games. Than I saw this fat mexican(no offense) but he was actullay very obese with his very overweight dad with a list and getting all the decent games, he had around 20. I was looking at this game than he snatched it from me and said its mine, and put it in his cart. What a fatass

Got the damn shaft!

Hours posted online at the store (Appleton, WI) and on their phone system stated 11am...but they actually OPENED AT 10AM...

Damn It!!!

The only action in the store was those two bargain bins and there were a handfull of people with the majority of the games (we're talking 2' tall stacks - probably 50+).

Needless to say it was pretty much picked clean by the time I arived 1hr late.

Here's hoping that they replenish and if I'm not mistaken they get trucks on thursdays...so friday may be a prime time to check it out again?

At Lakewood's CC, There was about 20 people waiting. Someone ran towards the game section as soon as the door opened. After all the games were gone, I saw him with no games lol. I cant believe some older people started getting tear-eyed because they didnt get alot of games. I heard one person said "I cant believe I woke up to this fucking shit". Anyways, I scored:

MotoGP (GBA)
NHL 2003 (GC)
Fantavision

I dont think theres anymore games left at Lakewood's CC.

A very weak selection of video games in Hollywood, CA and Burbank, CA. Nothing even worth mentioning.

If I go to the movies later today, I'll check out the Glendale Circuit City, but I highly doubt there will be anything worth picking up.

There was a group of CAger's that showed up at 10 along with me at the CC in DE. Then they were told the store doesn't open. They decided to wait an hour but I drove to another CC that opened at ten. Also filled up on gas. Got back and parked just as the doors opened. Thought I would miss out but wasn't anything to miss really. Crimson Sea, Summoner 2. but not worth the struggle in the box.

One more thing. I thought it was rather funny. Some people took this so seriously.

What's this TRU BOGOF sale???

Even though I only scored three games from this sale, I'm glad a found this site in process, because this site is pretty damn cool.

Anyways, anyone know any stores where I can exchange my THPS3 for THPS4 without a reciept?? I'm thinking Walmart.

I accidentally woke up AT 11 this morning. So I made it to CC at about 11:25 to find what I've been hearing from everyone else: nothing much. I asked an employee if they had gotten any new $5 games and he said no. Then again, I don't know if most of those guys even have a clue.

I'm not complaining though.. I actually got in on this earlier this week to find the games I really wanted (MvsC2, Dot.Hack, TJ&E3, Skies).

It does suck knowing that a lot of CC employees took advantage of this. I talked to a guy a few days ago who had bought $250 worth himself. Oh well..

I got:
MDK 2 (ps2)
Rayman 3 (ps2)
Sub Rebellion (ps2)
Bloodrayne (Xbox)

Not too bad considering Rayman was one of the games I really wanted. I showed up 15 minutes early and there were already a couple of guys there (CC in San Mateo) and by opening there were about 20 people. All the good games were gone in about 3 minutes, so I feel sorry for all those who couldn't get there early enough, but such is part of cheapassdom.

It's amazing to me, when I first saw this deal about CC last Saturday my CC seemed to pull them all off the shelves because they had nothing at all then, and I went back today assuming they would finally bring them out and still nothing. My CC sucks royally. I really wanted to get Chaos Legion for my wife :(

Myl local CC was picked clean over the course of the week, but I got some B list stuff. Since we're a small store, I got up and drove down to Scranton and Wilkes Barre, where they get more stuff. They actually had employees stationed in the game aisle, which they never do, and notes of apology on the bins because one store had three copies of THPS3 and some Xbox demos and the other had old basketball games. I did some other shopping, and when I got home, I hit the local store which had a fair amount that wasn't there all week. So I picked up Space Channal 5 and Mat Hoffman for my GBA. Overall though, I got 20 games from the sale over the course of the last week so I can't complain.

Chicago, IL suburbs are wiped out. No recent restocking of any titles whatsoever.

Schaumburg = wiped

Not good news for me. :(

Well I called before hand and got a guy who was actually willing to look up quantities for me. They didn't have much, but according to the system, they had a fatal frame for xbox (not a bad game and hard to find). So I hopped in the car and went to get it. Unforunately by the time I got there someone had stolen it or it was moved somewhere because the CC guy couldn't find it. Oh well. I did hit up the Spring hill store on thurs., the day after they put the bins out and got a few good scores. I picked up moto gp2 (xb) and ssx tricky (xb). They had 3 bins of games, mostly sports, but at least that store put a 10 games per household limit on the games, at least while I was there.

Well, I got Resident Evil 2 (PSX Greatest Hits) and Eternal Ring. Not spectacular finds, but there were few other good titles, and I felt like I had to buy something. I also saw Rayman 2, but it was the horrible PSX version, and I also saw Tenchu 1 and 2, but I already got Tenchu 3 earlier this week from CC, so no point in buying those. And that's about all the quality games I found, the rest were either sports games, children titles, or demo discs.

She did wear glasses, but I actually think that makes girls hoter. And hey you may not believe me but just to clarify she wasn't the hottest girl I just have a weird sense of whats hot. And I probably would have rather had the 3 of each game like trustcompany said because its just a number not like we are dating or anything now.

I went to the CC in Oxford Valley Mall (Pa.). I was the first one in the game department. They basically had two bins full of 4.99 games. I was able to get Yanya Caballista, Knout King 2002 and 2003, Lotus Challenge, No One Lives Forever, Endgame, and XGRA. The other games were just garbage. I think I might hit the Boulevard and Plymouth Meeting CC tomorrow.
