Do we really need Art of Fighting games for the ps2? Will it's coming May 1st anyways. Confirms and some more details (http://www.gamealmighty.com/story-individual/story/Art_of_Fighting_Gets_Collected_on_PS2_in_May/)

Such a fuckin' terrible series. I wouldn't be surprised if this sells like shit and SNK decides that the US simply doesn't want anymore fighting games. I mean, if we don't like AOF, what do we like?

America needs games where women's shirts explode off them when they are hit by fireballs.

I know I'm going to pre-order

hahahahaha

I would have rather had the Fatal Fury or Last Blade Anthology released here

I kind of liked Art of Fighting, if only for the scaling.

They are already planning to release the "Best" collection in June, so it must've sold ok, right?

the AOF series is fucking horrible. there is nothing good about it.

good news though. we are getting a U.S release of Fatal Fury: Battle Archives Vol. 1 sometime after the AOF release.

I wonder how much these will be when they release? I'd buy of them for $20 a piece (and I already own Fatal Fury Battle Archives Vol 1), but $30 and up means SNK can kiss my ass, because they are cheaper in Japan (and I don't need english win quotes in my games).

Well, Battle Archives 1 is more expensive, but my copy came from a Play Asia sale where it was only $19.90. Art of Fighting will be $24.90 in June.

I wouldn't be surprised if these were $40, to be honest.

I could've swore it was $29.99, but I can't find it, so I must be out of my mind. Ah well, forget it.

edit: whoops, where did I get that info? crap I need ginko biloba or something.

It's pre-selling for $29.99 @ EB/GS.

Bah, I'll pass.

These things will tank over here and drop price like a brick, I've just got that feeling. I'm kind of sad, I thought they'd do a budget release and throw them out there for $20 a piece.

I wish they would have done some of the newer (re: better) collections, such as Fatal Fury Battle Archives Vol 2... I'd pay $30 for that.

Sorry, I don't know where I got that from. I can't back it up, so I guess it's still up for speculation. Although $29.99 does sound like going rate for 2D old school gameplay on PS2 right now...

Yea, I didn't find it on EB / GS.

These games, in this day and age, haven't really aged well imo... they are fun to play for awhile, but I don't think they are worth the $30 if that's what they want to charge.

Metal Slug Anthology was $40, but you got 7 games that are STILL the best of the best in that particular genre.

I just know SNK will use these collections as the barometer for their collections with much better games and just not release anything else when AoF and Fatal Fury bomb.

They should have just gone stright into Fatal Fury Battle Archives 2 and the KoF Orochi Collection.

This might be an interesting release... pretty unexpected.

Not really... Ben Herman mentioned a LOOOOOOOONG time ago that when Sony became more focused on next gen, they were going to put out some collections on PS2 because Sony will have stopped caring what's out, for the most part.

It only took about two years for that to come to light ;)
