I saw it instock, but that was very quick for it to go OOS. Would have been a nice deal for people looking for one; tax free and free shipping.

I saw it in stock and ordered then came here to post. It was literally OOS in 2 minutes.

My shipping estimate is April 23rd. :)

I know the Wii is popular, but I can't help but think that Nintendo is doing something really wrong if they can't come up with more stock than this (either that or it's intentional).

They're producing and selling 1 million a month worldwide, soon to be expanded slightly. They're doing what they can.

They might be able to ramp up production, but it probably doesn't make sense for them to do so. Suppose they double capacity now to catch up to launch demand - what happens when supply overtakes demand? They then have to lay off the additional employees they hired, sell the additional property and equipment they acquired and eat the costs assciated with turnover of that scale. Since they consistently turn a comfortable profit, and their image isn't getting hurt much because of the limited supply, they might as well continue to patiently ride the wave of their good fortune.

Ouch. Amazon's ship dates are notoriously unreliable. You really shouldn't have cancelled based on that.

I find it funny that people say Wii isnt being made quickly enough when the VGCharts which is generally lower then what it actually is lists the Wii as 6.76 million sold.

And thats without taking March US sales into account.

Yeah they've sold a lot, but if people still can't buy them in stores or online 6 months after launch, then they're not making enough, IMHO.
