I updated my firmware last night, so my PS3 was on for about 30 minutes. When I came back to the machine the user interface was in black and white. (yet appeared to work normally otherwise)
I had this happen before when exiting out of a game. Has anyone else had this happen to them?

Actually I did buy a HDMI cable; I ran into problems with my TV freezing; so I switched back to component.

No, the actual video of the demo games in the user interface are B/W, also.
