i just tried calling the subscription phone number, and the girl, while very courteous, wouldn't let me buy just the card. she said it's 2 dollars extra when you get the subscription through them to get the card.

Well, I had to go to my local Gamestop to return a game and I checked out the used PS2 game section, and didnt see copies of Kingdom Hearts 2, Makai Kingdom, and Grandia 3 that i had seen the day before, when I told the clerk about the deal starting on sunday. I asked if they had the games used, and they had all three, but the cases couldnt be found, what a coincidence. I'm pretty sure the clerk hid the cases for himself. I should have purchased the games, just to spite the guy. Well, I have many choices for tomorrow.

Like I said, the coupon didn't work yesterday with the b2g1 xbox, so it's safe to asume it won't work with this upcoming deal.

I tried this the other day. No go for me. B2G1 or extra 10% coupon, not both. Although the More card always stacks on other offers. There are times when I've gotten promos stacked that shouldn't have been stacked. It all depends on who is working and to what degree they want to enforce company policy.

Also, there was a huge line at opening for the Wii (which sold out pretty quick). They also sold their 3 of their 4 Elite 360s while I was there.

The prices on the boxes wont always be updated but they will be in the system so once it's scanned the current price will show. So don't pass on something you want because the smucks didn't update the stickers on the box..

The PS2 version is averaging around $90-$100. Looks like it's still possible to get the Xbox version for relatively cheap. It'll stay low since the game will never be BC.

Yeah I did that in order to get Godfather: Blackhand Edition. I'm sure there will always be stores where the employees are dicks about it, but mine actually encouraged me to use that tactic.

you're probably wasting your time when it says on the coupon that it can't be combined with other offers. your random clerk might not be aware of that but you can bet corporate will know. still, doesn't hurt to try i suppose.

I'm not sure,but it looked as if it worked w/o any manual adjusting.The gs employee first scanned the coupon and then my card and didnt do anything else.She was particulary cool though (called another Gs and told them to give me a dead rising manual since my copy didnt have one) so maybe she did manually adjust and not say anything.Just try thought becase at one GS they were trying to make sales by saying they would stack the coupon and card so it seems as if it worked in 2 of the 3 Gs's I visited (the 3rd was not doing B2G1 free).

I don't know about other people, but the EB next to my school seem to accept the 10% coupon. They were like you can get 20% discount if you have the Gameinformer coupon. I just made a sad face cause my magazine didn't have it...=(

It happened to me once before when I bought 2 and got 1 free, but one of the 2 I paid for wouldn't play so I returned it but they didn't have anymore so I got a different game which I just turned out not liking and I returned that and they gave me my money back.

Then again, that's just B1G1F in the end.

Yes, if you do not like your used game you may return it to the store and they can enter the reason "Did not like."

Not only did the EB by me allow me to use the GI coupon, they also offered me an ADDITIONAL Edge card, and apparently the edge bonuses stack ONLY if you use an edge card then get a second edge card in the same purchase. Weird stuff, I know, but I spent $150.... and got another 10% off coupon.

Oh, and both stores I went to took the coupon no problem. THe first oen even HANDED ME BACK the coupon saying I could use it 5 times. (?!?!?!) Think he misunderstood Limit 5.

I am definitely going to have to do that. I got Saint's Row, and I'm not liking it at all. Does it get any better than the beginning? B/c it seems like a complete GTA rip-off to me. Not 100% since I'm at work, but I don't remember ever seeing it be otherwise. A manual override is applied the same way, it's just a generic discount code that requires a reason to be typed in.

Yeah, I was told no coupon with the deal too. Granted, the manager at this store is a fucking dick and isn't very fond of me ever since the trade 2 get 1 Far Cry/Open Season extravaganza, but he's such a pushy bastard, I just like to screw with him.

The official ruling is the coupon says "Cannot be combined with any other offer". I told him they've done it before. He says "Well, whoever did it, did it illegally." Blah blah...It really seems dumb to have the deals overlap if they can't be used together...like the other 50 times I've done it.

Anyway, I was still able to snag Kingdom Hearts II, Zelda: Windwaker, and Project Gotham Racing 3 for $36. No, you can use the coupon and the card together. You can't use the coupon with the B2G1 deal (but you can use your card with it), that's what's considered stacking, not the card.

You're missing the difference between "stacking" and combining promos. You CAN use the coupon stacked with your Edge card...just not toward the B2G1. You basically have to choose 20% off or B2G1 if you bought two games. Or just buy one game/dvd/accessory and get 20% off. You can still use it, just not to the extent as in the past.

I'm guessing that's because of the sleeve they use and how long the game has sat in said sleeve.

I rarely buy used games at GS, but have people noticed that horizontal scuff mark?

I hope everyone is finding good stuff and getting great games. Ive picked up 9 games so far. Mostly DS stuff with a bit of Cube and PS2 thrown in.

But the very best thing I got today.

On my way home from work I stopped at a GS store and found a copy of MGS2:Substance for the ps2!
I couldnt believe my luck as I have never seen a copy of that instore before.


Now I just need to find Futurama.

How many people have gotten through by buying a game over at one store, then going to another and returning it to rebuy as one of the free games? I want to try this when I go on Friday, should I talk to the clerks beforehand?

I had a horrible experience today at gamestop.. Tried to return a copy of Rogue Trooper for 360 that I got over the weekend, forgetting about the b2g1, so I could re-buy it along with two other 17.99 games.

The moron cashier did the transaction wrong 3 times after wasting 15 min of my time trying to take a check from the previous customer (which GS does not do) and another half hour trying to figure out that I wanted to buy rogue trooper again. Ugh.

Fortunately the manager got the clue that myself and the people I was with were getting pissed, and quickly fixed the situation, and accidentally refunded me another 16.17 or whatever.

Basically I ended up with a bunch of hassle and B1G2 free.

Picked up Max Payne, Max Payne 2 (free), and The Getaway. Then got Kingdom Hearts I, God of War, and Prince of Persia: Two Thrones (free). All for PS2, all non-GH. I'm happy :)

GC MGS: Twin Snakes $16.20
PS2 Dragon Quest VIII - FREE

All were complete and in perfect shape

I also snagged a bunch of PSX accessories. 3 first party dual-shock controllers for $3.60? Nice.

Oh, and someone was there trading in games. I noticed he had an Arc the Lad for ps2; haven't played it but heard lots of good things. GS was going to give him $1 in credit, I handed him $3 cash and snagged it =D

No, not necessarily....I've seen it happen and they do ask that you do it away from the cash register.

Besides they would have taken the game at $1.00 and sold it for $6.99 (or so).

Went in today and picked up a Wavebird and 2 regular GC controllers. Came out to be $29.00. The dude charged me wrong though. I used my Edge card and my GI coupon and he only took 10% off total. I guess it worked out though since they charged me for 2 regular controllers instead of a Wavebird and a regular controller.

Alright, this is a long one. I started on Sunday with 76 bucks on my Edge card. I picked up at GS

Super Paper Mario Wii,
God of War 2 PS2 and
Prince of Persia Rival Swords Wii.

At a different EB I traded SPM and GOW for 36 and 32.40 in that order. At the same store I picked up another

Prince of Persia Rival Swords,
Medal of Honor Vanguard and
Warioware Smooth Moves.

I sold the Medal of Honor for 30 bucks and returned the Warioware and the extra Prince of Persia for 40.49 each at a different store (lucked out on that one seriously)

Long story short I flipped back and forth and ended up with SSX Blur, Prince of Persia Rival Swords, Super Monkey Ball Banana Blitz, Tony Hawks Downhill Jam and Spiderman 3 for Wii full paid for only having to spend 20 dollars cash.

Weird things - First, Soul Calibur 3 was more than than Blitz (17.99 vs 14.99 before discounts). So that game I should have been charged for and Blitz should have been free, assuming the must be equal or lesser value principle applies. Second, the two free games did show up on the receipt as 0.00, which is different from the past where the amount was spilt between the games. I see in another thread someone somehow took advantage of it but that's neither here nor there. Total cost to me after the giftcards and credit for all 6 games was $3.39. A little over 56 cents/game = WIN.
