Wow. I wish I'd seen this thread before the 50% extra trade in expired otherwise I would have traded in _all_ of my Wii games. consider this:

Last week I traded SSX blur for $36, Zelda for $43 = $79.

Next week I'll be able to pick up my Zelda and Blur and a free third wii game for $72 (2* $45ea - 20% + 1 free --> ~$27ea)

The only risk is that my games might be sold by the time of the sale, in which case I'd be bummed, but trading back any Wii game that I have and is in abundance at my local GS (e.g., Rayman, Wario) would have gotten me *another* free game next week.

Thats VERY ymmv. If your friendly with a manager they may let you do it. I know for sure people have dont that before, but not often. Some people also buy their 3 games before the sale starts, and then get a price correction the next day. That move is also very ymmv.

Ahh Ok, we have the same kind of thing in the UK where shops can't sell alcohol on a Sunday, most shops used to be closed as well but I think people complained that they wanted to shop at the weekend so it's up to the stores now.

Sorry, to get back on topic I think I'll be looking out for NFS Carbon, Armoured Core 4 and AWF 2 all on 360 pre-owned at my local EB, Edge Card plus the coupon should sweeten the deal even more.

GI is a great mag IMO, but if you're interested in only the card, you can order one from a subscription card for just $2. You probably won't be able to get in on the regular 10% extra for trade-ins or off used games, though.

The promotion is automatic in the POS. It doesn't matter what the employee thinks, the system is going to give you, the customer, the better deal. It will take the 3 most expensive and mark the cheapest of those down to nothing, then it will do the same for the next 3 most expensive until there is nothing left on the transaction. Employees are NOT manually marking these down.

One problem with your first comment is that the computer marks down everything. This isn't a sale where the employees get to choose which ones to markdown. However, as stated earlier, it DOES group them by cost.

What I meant by the first comment is that you have the right to make the call to seperate purchases, rather than being denied in doing so. I've done it before. It all depends on the employees you get and if they actually feel like satisfying the customer. Grouping up everything may be in the computer already, but you can very well hand in groups of games as seperate purchases.

And yes, they do often give opened games/displayed games as new ones. While most of the time they are just opened, there are times where employees take them home to try them out or play them in the store only to later put them back, still supposedly "new." But as I said, as a customer, you can tell them to put the gutted ones back and to give you a sealed copy if you're asking for a new one.

It's B2G1F and it probably will be on their website but I'd strongly reccomend NOT buying pre-owned from the website.

Last time I ordered N3, King Kong and Fight Night 3 for 360 pre-owned from the website. King Kong was the Xbox version and none of them came with boxes or manuals.

I know you can take them back to a B&M store but personally I'd avoid the hassle altogether.

i just tried calling the subscription phone number, and the girl, while very courteous, wouldn't let me buy just the card. she said it's 2 dollars extra when you get the subscription through them to get the card.

Yeah, by Xbox 360 console, they mean the Premium one. That one comes with the HDD and wireless controller. The Core console doesn't come with an HDD and has a wired controller.

Yes it is still on, just traded in Lego Star Wars 2 and NHL2K6 on 360 about 45 mins ago and was very surprised to get the extra $10, I thought that offer was dead.

If I want to say, buy 6 games at the same time, could I convince them to give me the cheapest in each "set." (For example, 40, 40, a free 35 and 18, 18, and free 15) I want to use my 10% GI coupon, but if I bring them up seperately, they'll probably take my coupon the first time, and if take all 6 games up together, they'll probably give me the 2 cheapest games Im taking up, an 18 and a 15. Any ideas on this? Could I convince they to give me back my coupon because I would want to use it again on the other set?

Well, Im definitely going to bring them up seperately then. As for the coupon, well, if anything, going towards the expensive group. Maybe I'll drop by a copy mat and ask them to photocopy it on a heavier card stock type of paper. My GS seems to let things slide when it comes to things like coupons, I remember stacking another 10% with a coupon from an instore ad. So, I'll try at least :D
