View Full Version : Best PS2 Wireless Controller?

My bunny rabbit seems to make it his business to chew through any and all cables that I leave unattended. My poor ps2 remote (which I've had since I got the dam thing) is now dead and gone. I feel its time to switch to wireless, any recommendations?

I have the SEGA SurfWave Wireless controller and its pretty sweet.
Here's a Play-Asia listing so you can see what it looks like, but its OOS:

It has pretty great battery life and, IIRC, rumble built in.
I actually haven't used the controller in a while since I got a PS3, but I remember it working out great back when I first got it.

I'll second the SurfWave. I used the Fountech AirStyles for a while and enjoyed them quite a bit, but when I was in Japan last year and saw the 2.4 GHz Surfwave I had to pick one up (still made by Fountech too). I've been looking for a 2nd one for a bit, but I did find this site.

I can't vouch for the company and I haven't seen nor read anything about them but $40 is about right for what I bought it for in Japan.

The Logitech Cordless Action controller is supposed to be really good. I'm probably going to pick up two in the near future.

It is really good. I haven't tried the SurfWave, but the Logitech is leaps and bounds beyond anything I've tried. It's as good as a wired controller, with no wires.

I got two of them refurbished -- there's a sale that pops up every now and then around here -- and they've been troopers.

Don't settle for anything less. No Pelican or MadCatz.

I second the Logitech Cordless Action controller.

Logitech even redesigned the transceiver so that it'd be flush with the slim PS2.

Logitech, there's no competition. That thing can pick up a freakin' mile away (so it seems)

Woah $75 is way too much. You can get them pretty cheap using Google Checkout and ubid.com . I bought two a while back and it was less than $30 total shipped off that site. The Logitech's are the best, but IMO hold onto your DS2's for some games - the buttons are kind of stiff and the d-pad feels cheap, they're great controllers otherwise (personally, I dumped mine in favor of the DS2s).

that ubid site looks promising but it doesnt work for Canada. Any cheap places in Canada to get two of these. BestBuy has them for $59.99 each :(

EDIT: Just bought a used one off Amazon.ca for $33.85CAD
