So a PS3 can't play Japanese PS1 discs, but can one download them from the Network?

Do US credit cards work? Is there any kind of BS extra bank charge for the currency exchange?

Thanks.

No clue about PS1 games sorry. Demos of PS3 games work fine though, and in the past games bought from the store also worked on the US systems. Don't know if that is still the case.

Only problem is now thte US credit cards do not work anyone more.

Hmm, so there's no kind of work-around, eh?

Do they sell PSN cards in Japan I could import, maybe? Like MS points cards?

I believe they do sell PSN cards in Japan (worth certain Yen amounts), but don't know about importing them.

Unless you are getting them with the sole purpose of using them on the PSP, you still can't play them on your PS3 till they update the firmware IIRC.

they already updated the firmware to play the games on the ps3. However, they haven't made the us ps1 games playable on the ps3 yet.

So you can play the Japanese DL'able games now and not the NTSC versions on the PS3?

I think only some (11?) of the Japanese PS1 games work on the PS3.

I don't really care which system I have to play them on; this just seems like an awesome way to get some PS1 imports on the cheap.
