It's $20 at BB, TRU and Ebgames. Looks like a price drop to me.

Err, also why not check for it on their website using the store locator feature. I know the locator can be iffy sometimes, but they should be out there.

I searched the net for anything on a price drop and came up empty. Ubisoft's website even has it at $39.99. doubledown, where did you hear PoP was dropping to $20?

EDIT: Didn't realize it was $20 B&M at TRU & BB. TRU!!!...are you sure? I bet mine still has it at $49.99. Anyway, price drop or not...it's a great price.

Been waiting for this to drop in price, but I just bought five new games at the CC sale. Still, $15 after the GGC is sooo tempting. Must be strong!

I found this game in May still with the Splinter Cell promotion attached, and I hadn't beat Splinter Cell(rented it once) so I picked the bundle up for 40 bucks at Target. Kind of just like getting two platinum hits, so I guess this deal doesn't really affect me.

But who thinks this game is overrated?? I loved it through the first half, and then it started to get repetitive, still haven't sat down to just beat it though.

My advice is buy it and trade, its short and there isn't much reply value. (Except for unlockables like the original POP and stuff)

This game is definitely worth the money; at $15 (BB with GGC) it's a steal! All 6 of you who haven't played this yet, buy it now!

Actually, this game (for all the greatness) sold pretty horribly.

It's a classic case of a great title that got overlooked by more mediocre but better advertised titles.

Amazing it's not a Nintendo game, huh?

Just a heads up but the GC and XBOX versions have been discontinued at BB so if you plan on useing the gift card then go find one before they are cleared out.

I might have to pick it up for $30, though I doubt my local Wal Mart has dropped the price. It takes them forever to drop the price on any game. Beyond Good and Evil was $40 there for months after the price drop.

If you want to play the older versions, the XBox version is the best, as it includes the most PoP emus.

But, having played PoP 1 on the GCN, it's definitely shouldn't be the deciding factor.

If you want better graphics, go for XBox. If you have an unholy love for the GCN controller like I do, go fro GameCube.

But above all, GET THIS GAME! It's genius on toast.

I just came back from Best Buy today and it is $20 now. But the thing was, they had about 10 of them, and 3 of those had the free SC on it. So I basically got PoP and SC for Xbox for $15 after GGC. This is very YMMV, as it was probably old stock that was cleared out. But still, by itself PoP is definately worth $15.

If I'd ever seen the double-pack at $30 I'd have jumped on it. As of today they appear to have sold out entirely. Hopefully, I'm remembering correctly and it wasn't Target that still had double-packs as of two weeks ago.

There is no link to it. You can't get it online. The Gamer Gift Card, or GGC, is a Best Buy gift card that is in a CD jewel case, normally found in several places in each game aisle. You buy the GGC, putting whatever amount of money you want on it from $5-$100......just put $5 on it.

On the back of the piece of paper the GGC is stuck on to inside the jewel case is a coupon for $5 off any videogame or VG accessory $19.99 or higher.

Then you simply use the coupon, and whatever cash you put on the GGC, on the game. Effectively making every $19.99 game cost $14.99 after all is said and done.

Most of the time you will have to do this in 2 transactions. In the first transaction you will buy the GGC. Then in the second transaction you will buy the game with the GGC and the $5 off coupon.

Went to Wal-Mart to check on their games section and to see if they had Prince of Persia in stock. They did, but they still had it listed at $40.

Suddenly an idea popped into my head!

If I were to head to Best Buy and buy three Prince of Persias (Xbox, PS2, GCN) for $15 each for a total of $45, I could head to Wal-Mart and "return" them for $40 each. This would make my revenue $120 in Wal-Mart store credit and cost $45 for a profit of $75.

I could then spend all the store credit on a GBA SP + Game and sell it on ebay for ~$120 and turn my $45 investment into a cool ~$120.

The only problem I foresee is them questioning me about having three copies of the same game. Having one for each system may make it less suspicious. There also may be a Best Buy sticker or price tag on the game, though this could be easily solved. I don't think it would constitute fraud because I'm not forcing them to buy the games from me. If they say no I can come back during another shift or head to another Wal-Mart.

Thoughts?

After all that work you deserve $75 (and a slap upside the head too). What are you doing posting this garbage in my Prince of Persia thread? Here's a thought: why don't you go mow the old lady down the street's lawn - that usually gets you a profit of $10-$20. Or maybe open a lemonade stand - you might make $5 profit there on a good day.

I got some news for some of you newer guys: Walmart, Target, CC, BB, all these big department/electronic stores...almost everyone has some sort of thing that can be used to get a good deal and all of them know about it...yes... it's not this big loop hole that continually keeps getting looked over. They know about it and they are letting them continue because for some reason (higher sales/volume) it's making the company look good. The only thing keeping us from enjoying these deals for a long time are morons walking into Walmart with three copies of P o P and saying "uh..yeah...I really wanted this game and I got like five copies of it for my birthday............and everyone that gave me the game forgot a gift receipt........but they said they bought it from Walmart........." DON'T BE AN IDIOT!!!

Wal-Mart, not "idiots" like me, is the one keeping us from enjoying these deals. Prince of Persia had a universal price drop and yet Wal-Mart has yet to lower the price.

If they willingly accept my "returns" for the price that they are selling the game for then I don't see what the problem is. It's a fair exchange because they are currently selling the game at that price point ($40).

It's a lot harder than you think. Wal-Mart typically will NOT take back a game, even an unopened one, unless you have a receipt.

And yes, you'll look like you're trying to run a scam if you bring in 3 copies of the same game, even if it's on 3 different systems.

Here is a definition for fraud and what you're trying to do is fraud

In the simplest terms, fraud occurs when someone knowingly lies to obtain benefit or advantage or to cause some benefit that is due to be denied. If there is no lie, there may be abuse but it is not fraud.

U know, U guys can try CC and ask them to price match... I went to CC today and it scanned at 39.99 but asked one of the guys working their to PM, without providing him the ad, I just told him to check out the CAG website. All he did was saw this thread, took my word for it, and PM POP to 17.99, then I told him about that other thread where somebody got FFX-2 at CC for 19.99 and he also PMed FFX-2 to 17.99. Got 2 good games for under 40 bucks, all in all it was a good trip.
