think whenever you download a paid game off the PSN, it's linked with your playstation ID, and you can redownload it I think 5 times free of charge.

so basically, download it on yours or a dummy account, take off your CC info and change your password, give information to trading buddy, log on with the information, go into the PS store, and I think there is a list or something of downloaded games. Download, let the other person know, say thanks, and be on your way.

Just be careful who you give your info to they might change your password before you get a hold of your account back (not that they'd really gain anything from it), in which case you'd probably have to just create a new account and be glad that you took off your CC info.

This is a good idea. If you dont have anything to share then dont expect to get anything in return. Expect to send a paypal payment of 50% of the full price of the game you want.

Also a good gauge is I trader score and ebay ratings combined with the amount of time a cag has been a cag here on the boards.

It will let you download the game that you are sharing, but once you try to access it, it will give you an access denied message, "this content cannot be accessed on your account."

Some of us CAG's are looking to start a gameshare group.

On behalf of MillerTime2523:

We are trying to get a CAG gameshare group going.
We are trying to get 6 people to join this group, and so far we have 4 that have been expressing interest (Inf^Shini, Millertime2523, Panasonic, and Rowley72).
The plan is for each user in the group to buy a game (All members should buy the same $ amount of games), then each member would share/distribute with each other.

For example on a smaller scale: CAG A buys a PS1 game. CAG B buys a PS1 game, and CAG C buys a PS1 game. Each member would gameshare their purchased games with each other until all 3 CAGs have 3 games in their possession.
Another example would be CAG A Buys PSN game for $20, while CAG B buys 2 $10 games and CAG C buys 4 $5 games. Each member would gameshare until all games are shared.

Requirements (Can be taken case by case):
MUST MUST MUST have AIM to discuss which games to be purchased, info, etc.
CAG veteran or higher
10+ CTR. This can be taken case by case, as this group will be based completley on trust.

Yup only thing you gotta remember is to not delete the account of the person you gameshared with. You can queue up the download then log out of the account too. So you won't be held up

This is speculation on my part but couldn't this kind of stuff be the reason why Shivering Isles wasn't offered for PS3 owners? It's not like Bethesda wants to give this as a reason because they will bring attention to this flaw. I thought this was a helpful way for PS3 owners to get their stuff back easier, but people seem to be abusing it.

I've seen posts from 360 owners whose consoles broke and they had to jump through hoops to get their downloads back. They had to call customer service to get a refund or request to keep their old hard drive or something. With PS3 owners don't they just simply buy a new PS3, add their old username to the new console, and redownload their old things?

You can redownload these things like 4 times I think. Sounds more convenient than the 360 method but people are abusing it. I don't see too many people trading physical games with each other and then trading back after they're done. This method makes it way too easy to get free games and seems unlikely that Bethesda wants people exchanging $30 worth of content for free like Shivering Isles.

You guys are going to make Sony change this so a download is a one shot deal and PS3 owners will lose the convenience of the 4 downloads rule.

Edit: I wonder how Sony is going to avoid this with Warhawk. That's a more expensive game than the others mentioned here. Don't they have something set up to stop people from exchanging Warhawk downloads for free? Little Big Planet may be downloadable as well. Seems like Sony may be closing up this loophole soon anyway right? And Tecmo has said they want to sell downloadable things for Ninja Gaiden Sigma. Does anyone know what's going on with this?

I have to agree, this is pretty shady. Remember that a larger portion of the developers on the PSN aren't big corporations who can shrug off losses like this.

Not to mention you're abusing a policy that's pretty gamer friendly.

There's nothing shady about it. You get 5 downloads of stuff you've purchased. Some people are willing to give up one of their downloads. Completely within the EULA. (BTW, I thought it was shady, too, until I looked into the rules around the downloads.)

- When you create the "dummy" account on your PS3, does the country need to match the original account, so it connects to the right PSN store?
