Hey guys,
New to ps3. None of my friends are convinced that $600 is worth it for a gaming console.
Currently I have zero friends. Little help

I bought one last night. I was at work and thinking "I'm bored, my 360 is off for repairs and I don't feel like playing my wii, what the hell I'll buy a ps3"

i wish my wife allowed me to think that way..... my ps3 actually cost me $1250.... $650 for the ps3 (taxes included) and $600 to the wife so she could spend how she sees fit....
a month and a half later, still don't own any ps3 games.... (thank god for demos)
i think she made out better on the deal....

I'm also new to the PS3 scene. I just got a brand new 60gb this week from craigslist for $450 (you gotta love desperate sellers!)!
I was always interested in the system, but was never really in the market because of the MSRP...but at $450, I just couldn't pass. I'm looking forward to getting some games this week and putting it to use this weekend. I also can't wait for MLB to hit on the 15th. I'll look for you guys online, thanks.

1st things you should do is get online and update the system and grab a bunch of demos via the PSN.

I bought a xbox 360... but the ps3 will be my primary system.. because, the online is free w/ the ps3, I rather now spend money for the MS Live service. Also, the ps3 will be my primary, cause the xbox 360 gets too hot, I don't want to use the 360 for my primary system, and put it at risk of over heating.
My point is that the ps3 is good purchase, casue the system is durable, and if you got a game released on both systems, then I'd pick the ps3 version (most of the time).

NGS demo is AWESOME.

EB Canada had a killer trade in deal. Trade 1 xbox, 10 games, plus $300 CAD (about $250USD), for a 60GB PS3.
I told the wife about it, and she said no. I said that was ok, I would rather spend the $650+tax when the deal was over. She caved.
But last night she noticed that one of the ten games I traded in was her meteos for DS. That shit didn't go over well... Lets just say, I am not allowed to buy any games for a while... :-)
