I just loaded up my Dead Rising game and I got the Outdoorsman achievement without spending 24 hours outdoors. I had saved in a bathroom and the moment I started playing the little "Achievement Unlocked" thing popped up.
Prior to saving in the bathroom, I spent 24 hours indoors trying to get Karate Champ. I got that and Indoorsman at nearly the same time, that's when I saved.
Has anything like this happened to anyone else here? I've never heard of a game messing up and giving away free achievements. Has anyone here ever heard of that happeneing?

Haven't tried it myself but supposedly NBA 2K6 gives away 750 points due to a glitch that gives you 4/5 achievements upon exiting any game. Supposedly you can get all 1000 points with a half hour.

Glitches, in a 2K Sports game? Wow, that's hard to believe.
Aren't there Achievements in Madden 07 that you can earn, just by going into certain game modes?

The glitch is just a decimal mess up, meaning if you score 14 points, it gives yout he 140 point achievement. It works for all the achievements except for triple double, you have to earn that one for yourself.
And I've never heard of free achievements like that.

I've got that exact same Dead Rising glitch last month while I playing it. Normally I wouldn't like it, but that 24 outdoors thing just meant I didn't have to leave my 360 on standby for a while.

I remember when Rainbow 6 vegas first came out. It had a glitch where if you walked through the elevator door in a certain level you would get most of the campaign mode achievements.

Yeah this happened to me the other night, was playing NBA2K6 just to see if it worked (pre-owned copy) and I quit out the game and 600 nerd points unlocked. It was annoying cos it pushed me over the 20'000 line, would have preffered to do it with a bit more style.
Not quite as good as a friend of mine who hit Lvl 60 on WOW by falling down a hill though :)

you really dont have to do anything for the 1000 people online achievement in NBA live 07, but its more luck or being part of a organized group. What a stupid fucking achievement though, I can't believe EA would think that randomly there would be 1000 people online on that steaming pile of shit.

What did you do before you saved? Did you save in the same place as me? I saved in the girls bathroom in Paradise Plaza.

I can't remember where I saved, but it was in a bathroom. When I booted the game back up later on, I got the achievement unlocked message.

Wow.
Are you guys really that much of a nerd? You'd go out of your way and do stupid shit just to get an achievement?

While that may be true in some cases, most kids probably aren't going after achievement points at all, so the people with high gamerscores probably are at least somewhat of a hardcore gamer. And also, my parents never used to buy me games when I was a kid unless it was Christmas.
