on the 100 most influential people of 2006.
We recently passed on word that Nintendo designer Shigeru Miyamoto had been nominated to appear in TIME's top 100 most influential people of 2006 list, and today a 1UP reader (thanks Jon) noticed that Miyamoto did make the list -- at number 92. The influence of Wii even this early in its lifespan has not been lost, it seems. "By making video gaming accessible and fun for people like my grandma, Shigeru Miyamoto, 54, head of the Wii design team, has opened the world I live in every day to people who never even wanted to visit it before," writes Johnathan "Fatal1ty" Wendel about the industry legend.
Congrats Miyamoto. Job well done, you're an inspiration to us all.

They aren't ranked. The "first" person is Tina Fey.

Hm... Strell is right.
They're just numbered in their categories... first Artists and Entertainers, then Leaders and Revolutionaries, then Heroes and Pioneers, Scientiests and Thinkers, and finally Builders and Titans.
But I'm wondering why Miyamoto is in Builders and Titans, and not Artists and Entertainers.

If you're trying to correct me, I wasn't claiming that there was a list of "all 100 ranked". Why would I be?
I was just saying Tina Fay is in an entirely different category than Miyamoto... and many of the other people on the lists.

You continue to make your argument - the one you started - weaker with each passing post.
Time apparently doesn't care where the categories fall. So they could have just as well put the "builders" at the front. That would make Miyamoto ...what, number 12?
They aren't ranked. You could make the argument there are 5 categories with 20 people ranked in each, but even that would be a hard sell.
