Who here likes Led Zeppelin?
I love Led Zeppelin. Zep is my favorite band. Best music in the world. Achilles Last stand is one of my favorites, alond with The Rain Song, The Battle of Evermore, and of course, Stairway to Heaven.

I like them, but the classic rock station here overplays them.

Same here. Before I die, I wish I'd be able to see them in concert. If I could get front rows, I would seriously pay HUNDREDS to see these guys.

I used to listen to them for years, but then got tired of them, and listened to rap and then eighties. I can't seem to stay on one genre for too long anymore.

Ya, If I had a time machine, I would probably go back to the 60's.

I have the Led Zepelin DVD which came out last year. I watch it sometimes and I wonder why bands nowadays are not nearly as good as Zepelin was. I mean the concert footage is incredible. They play with such power.

Ummm...they suck now...Jimmy Page cant play guitar anymore...years of herion has fucked him up...I wouldnt want to see them...just watch the DVD's...yes they are awesome but far from the greatest classic rock band...Over the Hills and Far Away...is my fav. song...and The Rain Song...Stair Way blows...way to overplayed...

My parents raised me with classic rock so, yes, I like Led Zepplin. Their cover band, Zoso, seems to come to my town a lot.

Everyone in my family--except Mom and me--has been. So that's four ppl, and if I remember correctly, they said they were pretty good.

youve got to be kidding me. I can understand if theyre not youre favorite, but FAR FROM THE GREATEST? (I think theyre the greatest) But seriously, list some bands which you can listen to all of their songs without skipping a track.

Im not gunna start naming off bands only to result in a arguement...but they are not the greatest band of all time or the greatest classic rock band...yes they are good...but not the best...

I beg to differ. They were way ahead of their time and just b/c they are overplayed does not detract that they are (in my and many others opinions) the best band of all time.

I love Led Zeppelin. One of my friends got a Zoso (with symbols) tattoo on his forearm (and it's a huge forearm). I think my favorite song is "Going to California"...and Stairway of course...
BTW, has anyone heard "Kashmir - Symphonic Led Zeppelin"? Fan-friggin-tastic CD. Get it.

Zep is one of my fav bands. And if you ever get a chance, check out Tool's cover of No Quarter from the Salival boxed set. Great stuff

The Encomium CD isn't half bad either. The Rollins Band does a wicked cover of Four Sticks on it.

I saw Zeppelin in 77 (yeh I'm probably old enough to be your father) at Madison Square Garden. It was one of my first concerts. Kashmir, No Quarter and In my time of dying were the highlights of the show for me. A powerful performance but not the best I have seen. The best show I think I ever saw was the Outlaws at Giant's stadium I think it was 79. The guitar army kicked ass. Green Grass and High Tides forever.

Back in the day, you were either a Zepplin fan or a Who fan
I am a Who fan
Zepplin bores me, they are a very long winded band.
Besides, what about the whole argument that Led Zepplin simply sang about the Lord of the Rings over a bunch of ripped off old blues riffs?

Well, I know they took some stuff from Howlin' Wolf, and took that riff and put it into the Lemon song, and there are some more, but they afterwards put the proper credits.

Ummm...they suck now...
You must be crazy, I saw Robert Plant with his band in Vegas at the Hard Rock Hotel and remains to this day the best show I have ever seen.
His voice was still amazing and he was still very charismatic on stage, my friends and I had the best time. I would go see them before you say a comment like that. Not to mention even in their worst they are still better then 95% of the newer bands these days.
Oh and "Hey Hey What Can I Do" remains my favorite zep song, and is only availbe on the 4 disc box set to my knowledge.

Uhm, lets put a new topic in there?
What album is the best Zep album ever, and why?
For me, I'd say Led Zeppelin 1. I'll prolly change my opinion in a year or so, but I like every single song on the first album. Would'nt skip a track.

I usually call Zep's 4th album, IV (as in four, not Ivy).
Its actually untitled though.
Common names for it are: Runes, 4, sticks, zoso, untitled, "that stairway to heaven album" :P
