I mean with a steering wheel pad and what not.

Going to start learning soon and I figured this may be a good way to get some practice in without denting the vehicle.

It is nothing like real driving. You would be better off practicing with a real car in a vacant parking lot somewhere.

So basically it's more equipped to emulating the arcade feel of driving rather than the feeling of driving an actual car?

This be true!

Gt4 with a wheel is good fun though.

It's fun, but nothing like driving, especially that whole 'if I crash, I die' thing in real life.

I meant more in regards of getting a sense of movement in the vehicle rather than just flooring it. I was going to use it for simply and slowly doing laps on time trials just to get a sense of things before moving on to the real thing. But I trust you guys so I'm just going to pass on it.

Drive in a parking lot or around some empty office buildings, it helps sooooo much

The concepts of car handling, acceleration and braking, weight distribution, that kinda stuff, are well taught by Gran Turismo. But the actual gameplay is nothing like real life driving.
