Best Buy Coupon?

not sure which forum this belongs in but if i already bought something and i have a coupon, can i go back to customer service and have them apply the coupon and refund me the coupon amount?

Almost every Best Buy coupon I have gotten says they dont apply to previous purchases. So I would say you cant but it doesnt hurt to try.

If you haven't opened it yet, why not just return it and get a new one?

Then probably not. But if you're still under the return period, you could potentially buy another new one with the coupon, and then return it unopened with the old receipt. That gets into some questionable moral/legal issues like fraud, but it would work.

If it's a recent purchase, like within a week. take your receipt with you along with the coupon and talk to customer service. they'll likely refund you for the difference even if you dont have the item with you (they have done this for me). I usually don't bother with 5$ coupons though. notworht my time and gas expense for a couple of bucks difference (after you factor in the gas expense to drive back to the store).

I usually go up to the service desk and tell them I didn't have the coupon with me when I bought it. As long as it's within a week they'll do it.
