I can't get my PS2 to recognize my HD and I was wondering if anyone else has solved this problem. It is not the Sony 40GB HD.

What are you trying to use the HD for? Playing backups?

One thing to check is to make sure the HD itself is set to master and not slave.

The PS2 will not recognize an unofficial hard drive unless you've done some software or hardware modifications. Out of the box, you're out of luck.
