Hey guys, I had a 360 last thanksgiving it was cracking the inner rings of the game discs I had. I had it for about 2 weeks, ended up taking the whole system and games back for a refund.

Anyway I had a thought today, I had my 360 on my dresser and while playing I'd often kick my feet up onto the dresser while I played. Could doing this cause my 360 to crack my game discs?

The question I had because I've had a PS2 in the exact same spot and I do the exact same thing and I never had a problem.

Oh and I kept the 360 vertical.

Thinking of getting a 360 again, I'm itching to play Dead Rising. Maybe I'll wait on the price drop...

Price drop probably won't be for quite a while.

P.S. Dead Rising is great.

When you kicked your feet up, you probably shook the system a bit, which is why the disks are cracking. I accidentally bumped my 360 while playing Gears of War and it cracked the inner ring. Vibrating or moving the system during gameplay will do that. Just buy another console and keep it on its side.

And get yourself a footstool so you don't keep breaking your games. =P

Vertical AND kicking the surface that it's on to cause vibrations? Yep, you broke your own 360.

Yes, moving your 360 at all while it is using its DVD drive has a very good chance of damaging the disc. When I first got my 360, I moved it and it gave some red rings(not the 3 of death) and it ended up being fine, but it was cause from the console being moved.
