So, now that it is summer vacation some of us CAGs have a lot of extra time. I figured it would be a great idea to clean up my game collection. I hate having a ton of games because I don't play all of them and they just sit here. So, it would be much appreciated if some CAGs helped me with this...and feel free to post your own collection to be cleaned up and I will help too. I'm also stuck between selling on eBay and going to a game store. eBay is just so inconvenient...

:360:

- Oblivion (should I sell now and wait for a GotY edition?)
- Gears of War (not going to sell)
- Def Jam Icon (still need to beat it)
- Guitar Hero II (not going to sell)
- NHL 2k7
- Madden '07 (will try to buy '08 when it comes out)
- GRAW
- Rainbow Six Vegas (barely touched the multiplayer)
- Splinter Cell: DA (Haven't beaten it but the new Splinter Cell looks sweet)
- Call of Duty 2
- Call of Duty 3
- FEAR
- Crackdown (need to keep it for Beta)
- Dead Rising
- Marvel UA (just bought heros/villans pack)
- Tomb Raider Legends (gift from my parents)
- Perfect Dark Zero (1st game)
- PGR3 (1st game)
- Viva Pinata
- Lost Planet (almost finished)
- Burnout Revenge
- Dead or Alive 4
- Table Tennis (never really play at all)

:ps3:

- Genji (can't get rid of, incase I need to return to CostCo)
- Motorstorm
- Virtua Fighter 5
- Resistance
- Tony Hawk 8

:wii:

- Zelda
- Wii play
- Wii Sports
- The Godfather
- Tony Hawk DJ

I also have like 30 xbox games...but I dont know if they'd even be worth getting rid of with such low trade prices from EB.

All the stuff in parentheses is just justification... if you aren't playing something, sell it, simple as that.

Who cares if PDZ was your first game, it blows and there are much better FPS's out there.

Ebay isn't inconveinent at all  It's a lot better than getting raped up the ass at EB / GS. It takes maybe 2 minutes tops to package something, print out a label, and drop it in the box at the PO (or just leave it for the mail carrier).

1st games have sentimental value I tells ya!

The eBay thing is I do all my listing under my dads name...which means things get done very...slow. He wants to be there when I upload things, take the pictures, write the descriptions etc...blehhh

Anyone know how Microcenter is with trade in prices?

Oh, then in that case, that blows. Make your own Ebay account ;)

If you're going to get caught up in sentimental value, this will be a lot harder. You just need to make 3 piles - these piles are "Currently playing or will play VERY SOON", "beaten but the replay value will makes me play this currently (think Gears of War)", and "haven't played, or beaten, and I don't see myself playing this anytime soon".

Take something like Perfect Dark Zero, and ask yourself are you really going to play this in the future with all of the future 360 games coming out? Are you really going to play PDZ over Halo 3 or Shadowrun?

I went from over 1,000 games to a little over 100 so yea, while it's hard, once you start selling it gets a lot easier. Sentimental value only means it'll collect more dust because you feel bad.

Dump PGR 3 because Forza 2 and PGR 4 will be better anyways.

It's hard to make a list without knowing how many of those 360 games you still play multiplayer on a regular basis.

Just sell the stuff you don't play here on CAG. :D I'd buy some of your 360 games.

The piles are a good idea roufuss, I will def do that. As for games I play multiplayer in, they are...

- Gears of War (not going to sell)
- Def Jam Icon (still need to beat it)
- Rainbow Six Vegas (barely touched the multiplayer)
- Crackdown (need to keep it for Beta)
- Marvel UA (just bought heros/villans pack)

And Mr Anderson, I posted some games in a trade list and no one ever PMd me, and I bumped it a million times :(

Definitely do the piles, and don't let sentimental value cloud your head. And with the first one, the games you are going to play should be either ones you're gonna finish really soon, or play in the next month or 2, if you aren't move them to the last pile. If you don't see yourself playing PDZ over Halo 3, dump it.

Then, at the end, you look at the last pile and say "Will I play any of these over any of the games this year that I'm anticipating? Would I rather use these games to get games I will actually play?"

Another thing I did is sell the games you can get good money for now, because ALL games go cheaper eventually.

For instance, when I got Disgaea 2 at launch, it cost me $45. When I starting selling my games, I realized I wasn't going to play it anytime soon, so I decided to sell it (this was about 5 months ago, I think). I got a little over $40 for my copy, which isn't bad, only lost $2 or so in the long run.

Sure enough, it did get cheap at Circuit City, only $17, at which time I bought it and this time I am playing it asap since I don't have a backlog or anything else ridiculous. I would have been pretty pissed if it sat on my shelf for $45 and I never touched it knowing it was so much cheaper elsewhere.

For me, I basacially sold everything and just started over, playing one game at a time, because I was buying games at launch or close to it with a deal and not ever touching them.

Hopefully this makes sense? I'm just saying, say you ever miss PDZ, one day it will be on clearance somewhere for $5 or so if you ever want to pick it up again.

A better example is selling my sealed Disgaea 1 for over $100 back in the day, banking on the fact Atlus would reprint it again, and I did, and a new copy will cost me under $30. I sold my Suikoden 2 for $150, because I know one day Konami will re-release it in the states dirt cheap.
