(http://www.xbox.com/en-US/games/s/simpsonsgame/) Features

The Simpsons™ Game features a hilarious, sprawling, and mind-busting storyline crafted by the TV show's Emmy Award-winning writers. For this action-comedy, the full cast of voice actors from the TV show and movie reprise their roles to lend the ultimate in authenticity and realism to the game. In The Simpsons Game, Homer, Marge, Bart, and Lisa use exciting, all-new powers to save Springfield from rising chaos. To help the Simpsons, gamers must journey through their home town (as well as vast worlds beyond!), vanquish an amazing array of villains, and fight their way through parodies of multiple popular games.

It's the real Simpsons: You wouldn't want to hear Comic Book Guy voiced over by an actual comic book shop guy, would you? Neither would we! That's why EA got the actual voice actors from the TV show and movie to reprise their roles, so the characters in The Simpsons Game sound exactly as they should.
Play your favorite characters: Let's face it: Homer, Bart, Lisa, Marge, and even Maggie Simpson probably couldn't fight their way out of a wet paper sack without your help. Play as all members of your favorite dysfunctional TV family as you battle to save them from videogame purgatory.
It's extra Simpson-y: Just like you want the game to sound like the show, you also want it to look like the show. And thanks to some really smart guys using innovative 3-D into 2-D technology, it does! Add in a huge cast of Simpsons folks and an amazing level of interactivity, and you've got a Simpsons experience like no other.
Haw-haw!: When The Simpsons aims its trademark wit at the video game industry, nothing's sacred! Pop culture and current event parodies join the mix to deliver classic Simpsons humor.
They're Simpsons and then some: Even with your help, the Simpsons family would have a tough time taking on the baddies standing between them and a safe return to their comfy couch in Springfield. Good thing they've been given special videogame powers! From Lisa's Saxophone Spin to Homer's Power Burp, these special abilities just might give the Simpsons a fighting chance after all.

Update 7/12: E3 2007 Trailer

http://youtube.com/watch?v=MmbEw8OvBPU

Gameplay footage here: http://media.xbox360.ign.com/media/780/780082/vids_1.html?RSSwhen2007-05-09_131400&RSSid=786742
[/center]

EA isn't giving up the entire premise of the new Simpsons game yet, but it did say that the entire family (save Maggie) will be playable. (That's Homer, Marge, Bart, and Lisa, if you're keeping score.) Apparently, the Simpsons will realize just a few minutes into the storyline that they're actually trapped inside a video game, and they'll use that newfound freedom to envision new powers for themselves that they can access throughout the game's action levels. For instance, Homer will pick up calories throughout each level by picking up edible power-ups, and once his calorie meter is full, he'll be able to transform into the Homerball, a massive sphere of flab that can roll over and demolish almost any object or enemy. Later on in the demo level, we saw Homer pick up a chili pepper that turned him into a more powerful lava version of the Homerball. By contrast, Bart's special ability will be to transform into Bartman, which will let him glide around slowly with his cape. Naturally, he'll also have a slingshot projectile attack to use for ranged offense when the need arises.

...

EA is referring to the 16 levels in the game as "episodes," and each one will take place in a new environment with a unique title and storyline. Each of these episodes will feature two Simpsons family members, and you'll be able to switch between the two at any time. What's more, a second player can grab a controller at any time, hit the start button, and commandeer Simpson number two for some split-screen action. We'll hope to get some hands-on time with this one in the coming weeks to find out how well EA is living up to its obviously serious commitment to this hallowed franchise. The Simpsons' newest game is due out in late fall of this year.

I don't see anything wrong with that:

--Mario replaced by the Simpsons, a show that's culturally relevant and not just a vehicle for various sports games and platformers.

--the jokes might actually be funny

--you won't feel like a tool playing it with anyone other than your 8 year old nephew or girlfriend.

--Paper Mario has good gameplay :)

Yeah, but it's EA, so you know it's gonna suck.

Seriously, I'm not being sarcastic.

And this game looks pretty funny.....if this was 1995. But since it's 2007, it will be filled with 2007 era Simpsons "humor".

Wow, seeing the game in action...it looks amazing. I'm impressed how they got the "look" of the show integrated with the 3D game space without it being cell-shaded.

As for the comparison to SPM, the clip looked more like Super Mario 64 than SPM...

good point about the 2007 simpsons humor. what's worse is that it'll be written by some random guy they hire, not even the people who work for the show.

So, I don't buy the whole "Past Simpsons games have sucked, so this one will too!" But, it's a whole new generation, with a new publisher and developer, so it has NOTHING to do with the previous games.

You say that like they could possibly be worse. The show didn't go all to hell all at once, its gotten steadily worse since season 11. And since we are in season 18 thats 7 seasons of increasingly poor quality. Every now and then they hit a gem, but with the runtime being about 3 minutes shorter than it used to be they don't have the time to put together a solid story...assuming someone over there is still capable.

say what you will about the people who write for the show nowadays, but they didn't get the job because they weren't cut out to write for the video game industry.

considering the track record of the game industry for writing good dialog and crafting good stories--it can get a lot worse. EA has money though, so hopefully they won't have a goofy programmer write it or something...

I'm confused. As am I. I'm pretty confident the game is gonna be mediocre, but I'm even more confident that it won't be AS bad as all the other Simpsons games (excluding Hit and Run).

And here is hoping they include the Tomato Throwing game from Virtual Bart as an Easter Egg. Plastering Skinner in the ass with a tomat'er was tons of fun back in "the day".

yukine
05-10-2007, 02:51 AM
"Speaking of capturing the show's essence, a number of the series' writers penned the script for the game--which will amount to nearly an hour of original cutscenes and dialogue, all voiced by the show's original actors."

Perhaps The Simpsons isn't as good as it used to be, but it's still a highly entertaining show. I think it's rather remarkable that it's still so enjoyable after all these years, no other sitcom has come close to what The Simpsons have accomplished.

Hell, Family Guy is already declining and it's on what? Its sixth season?

I actually like some of the Simpsons games being a huge fan of the show I will put up with mediocre gameplay. Just was pointing out that Road Rage was far from being the worse game in the history of Simpsons games. Maybe some people are too young and don't remember any gaming pre-Xbox/PS2.

In addition, each retailer will have a specifically created cheat code printed on the back of the game posters to open some of the unlockable content in the game. These are all while supplies last.

My favorites of the posters, in order: Big Super Happy Fun-Fun Game > Medal of Homer > Bartman > Everquest. What I really want is that Homerball though, and when they say "Limited Homerball Figure" I hope they don't mean like it is hard plastic, as I would expect it so be squeeze-able. I just hope the Homerball isn't limited to CC, as that is the only main store not getting a preorder bonus, but when they say participating stores, I would assume, it could mean all of the other four. Damn, this game is getting more tempting than ever!

Wait, so are they actually going to have this stuff tomorrow?? I preordered the Wii version way back during one of the trade-in deals. But I want to switch it to the 360 version. I suppose I could head in there and make the switch and get my stuff. But I guess I'd better call first to see what they have for a bonus. Usually they don't give this stuff out till you pick up the game, so it is strange to do it so early if it is tomorrow...

My guess would be some stores might have the posters tomorrow, but no one will have the Homerballs. I would think some stores would wait until after Halo 3 comes out to start any preorders for a major game(ie, my Target had Madden reserve cards out for the longest time, then after Madden came out, that shelf space went to Halo 3 reserve cards, next Simpsons reserve cards?) I think, and hope, that the posters are kinda like the Pokemon stylii, preorder the game, get the stylus. However, the Homerball might come in stores a little before the game is release, maybe?

Meh, if you have to go out of your way, it would probably be better just to wait until someone confirms that this is in store, so you don't go out of your way to change the preorder, and not get the poster...

Oh, and I forgot to mention, I love how they don't mind having real guns with real bullets, instead of like laserguns or something so it would be "kid friendly".

According to Meerkatgamer, the preorder bonuses, well atleast the Homerball, is in stores right now. (see http://cheapassgamer.com/forums/showthread.php?p=3376882 ) However, I would say it may just be that region of the country, with everywhere else too soon follow. Not to go off topic, but anyone know if I can switch my $5 down on Dewy's Adventure(to get the plush) for The Simpsons Game, so I can get the Homerball? Yeah feel free to move your $5 but you won't get your Dewy's Adventure plush.

So I guess Gamestop is the definitive retailer for the Homerball. Gamecrazy might get it too... Someone at GS today lured me into preordering the game saying that I'll have one saved for me if I preorder. I printed off the teamxbox.com article and when he saw the Homerball pic he goes "yeah that's being given out with reservations." He said it like he's seen it before. Him saying that gave me some sense that they will get the Homerball so I preordered. He had no idea about the posters. He's damn good at persuasion though. Ha I guess that's how he's the only one at that store that keeps his job.

And as seen here: http://www.ea.com/simpsons/homerball.jsp , the Homerball doesn't look too big, but definitely worth preordering the game for. We NEED an employee at EB/GS to tell us when these things are in store!

EA has revealed it had to remove a GTA spoof level of The Simpsons Game after Rockstar asked to be taken down.

"I was always under the impression that when you do parody, it's a sign of respect... If we make fun of Grand Theft Auto, we're not going to hurt the sales of Grand Theft Auto... But yeah, we've definitely had some reactions - we've had to pull stuff from the game," The Simpsons lead designer Greg Rizzer revealed to CVG.

Rizzer revealed that at this year's Games Convention in Leipzig, someone at Rockstar took offence at a poster for 'Grand Theft Scratchy', one of the levels in the game, and asked that it be taken down.

But not every company felt the same way after seeing its franchise being parodied in The Simpsons Game.

"I don't know if you've seen Sitar Hero? We did Apu playing this 60-button controller and songs like Pour Some Curry On Me" said Rizzer. "We made this wonderful parody poster and the guys from Harmonix loved it and we sent them 20 copies of the poster. They just loved it so much."

Unfortunately, Activision’s Red Octane is the publisher of Guitar Hero so even if Harmonix was cool with the spoof, its publisher could still follow Rockstar’s way. http://news.teamxbox.com/xbox/14727/The-Simpsons-Game-EA-Had-to-Remove-GTA-Parody/

I wonder if EA removed it because they thought that they might get sued or because they'd like to buy them out some day...either way, that sucks.

I could be wrong, but I read that news on some other sites and it was not clear to me that the GTA-themed level was actually removed from the game -- only that they had to remove a GTA parody poster that was up at E3 (or was that PAX?). According to Wikipedia, the GTA parody is central to the game's plot (it's an itchy and scratchy-based version that marge is trying to get outlawed). Can anyone confirm?

Wow, that site takes an already confusing report and misinterprets it even more. Not sure how he makes the leap from a poster to a level, he just substitutes a word at random.
All we know is this: A poster was removed at Leipzig. A developer is quoted as saying "we've had to pull stuff from the game". What exactly was pulled from the game is not known.

Camera controls are a big problem when near a building. You can't bring the camera behind you to see over your shoulder when your back is to a building. It pans back to your front so you see yourself standing against the wall. This will probably be a rental.

getting on that guys back was kinda hard, but I enjoyed it. The partner AI is off, bart died and I switched to homer and bart kept falling in the water until I got near his spawn point and switched. It's like a 7.5-8.0ish game. Reminds me of Lego Star Wars almost. The camera really adds uneccessary difficulty to the game though. I like the temporary invincibility power-up

I have to agree about the camera - I played the demo level for 30+ minutes before finally beating the boss - I was amazed that the "target" time is only 4 minutes! The camera is really annoying, and even tho you can click on the right stick to reset it, it just instantly resets, so it still takes a second to reorient afterwards - not good when the boss is bearing down on you.

Also... what's with the absolute insane amount of Krustys and Kang / Kodos (can't remember their exact names, you know the aliens from ToH episodes) - and the infinite amount of them too? I thought this game was going to be more of a "progress through the level til you get to the boss" kind of game, ala Mario, not "throw everything including the kitchen sink at you and hope you don't die" kind of game. I was really hopeful this would finally bust The Simpsons out of video game hell, but I don't think it will - it comes close tho, I'll give them props for the outstanding graphics, dialog, and sound.

it was some major bull shit.Ditto. The first target was decent, but then you had to fight both the boss to get him into the right spot so you can actually get up there along with the camera. You're already circling a 30-40 foot boss and then the camera has this horrible lag in trailing behind that you have to fight. The targeting still semi-works, but then once you finally hit the 2nd and 3rd targets, you have to reorient the slow camera to get yourself up onto a platform to hit 'em.

Another "me too" post about the camera interferring with the gameplay. It's zoomed in too close and difficult to control and makes that whole boss fight a lot more of a pain the ass than it needed to be.

Also, I didn't care for the attacks, either. If I'm getting swarmed by enemies, I want to do more than just some limited punches.

Everything else was awesome--graphics, animations, in-game references. Co-op is also great. It's almost a shame, really. At least I don't have to get this game day one now. :p

anyone else find this to be frustratingly hard? it would take me forever to hit the second button, and when i did, he wasnt near anything for bart to float up and on his back.

it was some major bull shit.

Word.

I was having fun up until I had to stop him somewhere close to a building or something that Bart could reach. Game looks and sounds freakin' awesome though, already have mine preordered and picking up on day one.

Why are people complaining because Lard Boy was difficult? There were pleanty of mattress' & dumpsters to jump on to get to higher places to jump on his second and third spot. Also, there's at least 2 helium containers that I saw..in which Homer can suck and he can float up. There's quite a few fire hydrants that Homer can smash, and then it spews upwards and Bart as Bartman can use to float up with...
Yeah it was kind of a difficult, but not impossible. The camera was a bitch, but there certainly have been worse situations. Having some sort of difficulty should be embraced, IMO

So the demo is a parody of SotC right?

Also, how do you kill the giant robot? I used Bart's slingshot on the bottom weak spot, climbed up, and destroyed it. However, I couldn't get to the top spot. How do you do it? By the time I climbed up a building to jump on he would close the panel.

Same, but with the third button. I even tried doing the Bartman glide off of a building, but for a gliding move he drops down really quickly. How the hell do you reach the third platform on Lard Lad? What makes it even more a pain is if you don't get up to it in a certain time period he runs to the other side of the map and you have to try and lure him back to where there's buildings.

Camera was anooying and in a couple places seemed broken. Stood in the smashed up building and the camera kept trying to reset itself into the wall for some reason while I was trying to aim with Bart. The partner AI is really bad, computer controlled Homer at one point just kept running forward at a wall and didn't move until I switched to him. I didn't think either the Lard Lad was hard to avoid or that the Crusty's were overwhelming, the most difficult thing to me was trying to get on Lard Lad's back.

Loved the art direction and the voice acting, hated pretty much everything else. I'm passing on this.

There's a difference between difficulty and frustrating game design. When the hardest part of the demo was just getting up on a high enough platform to finish Lard Lad off in enough time, then that's a design flaw.

Hitting the switch with Bart then changing over to Homer I'd find half the time Homer had run to a farther away area and then I'd have to run and get the helium and float up to Lard Lad. Either the helium would run out or Lard Lad would recover and run away. Using vents/hydrants to try and glide to it wasn't working well either, and the camera made all of that more difficult than neccisary.

I shouldn't have to fight the camera on top of that.

For the third spot, I ended up luring him near the prison walls next to a broken fire hydrant. If you can get around the camera issues of running around him while near a wall, then you should be able to get high enough with the draft to either jump on the wall and then onto his back, or aim directly for the platform after the updraft.

I thought Lard Lad was easy, I just lured him to a building, hid behind the air ducts, he thought he lost me so he walked away, nailed him with Bart and glided easily to the third platform

walletandgromice
10-09-2007, 02:24 PM
I agree with all the camera complaints (honestly, I felt a little sick after playing it) but want to add that the game would be much easier if it had some way of instructing the teammate AI to "hold position" -- to get that top panel I would put Bart on top of a building, use Homer to lure Lard Lad to be facing so his back was toward that tall building and switch back only to find Bart had already jumped off the site I'd worked so hard to climb him on top off.

Ugh. I imagine it's more fun and quite a bit easier multi-player.

Kevlar281

So has this game gone gold? Because I'd really like to buy it and after hearing about al the camera complaints I'm left wondering if they have time to fix things. I don't know much about game design, so would fixing the camera even be possible now at this point?

gunm
10-09-2007, 05:43 PM
Don't get me wrong, I'm not complaining about the difficulty at all. In fact, I thought it was rather easy, from a design point of view. It's the fact that the camera goes all over the place and the fact that if you move Bart a fraction the wrong way he'll "slide" right over the platform that makes it artificially hard. I hit the platform over and over and for some reason he'd just run right past it. It doesn't help that if you're in single player, the AI is a bit more retarded than Homer really is, so getting Lard Boy into position takes a lot of jumping back and forth between characters which is lame when coupled with the screwy camera.

I'm hoping they picked a horrible level and that the rest of the gameplay works around the horrible camera. Difficulty should be based on the actual gameplay, not horrible camera systems, controls, and etc.

The Simpsons fan in me wants this so bad to be awesome, but sadly based on that demo it seems to be a 6 at best. If this one fails they better make Hit and Run 2, I loved that game! Also a better version of road rage would be cool too...I really miss crazy taxi, sega. ):

The camera wasn't "that" horrible and Lard Lad wasnt horribly horribly hard to get on the hatches I thought it was pretty fun honestly :).

So I'm confident the posters will be bundled with the game and the 4 retailers will get different ones. Its EA so if the game is a total sales flop they'll drop it quick. They aren't usually as quick to drop as Ubi is but they aren't too far behind. I'm betting $40 by Christmas, January at the latest.

With GH3, Rock Band, Call of Duty 4, Mario Galaxy and even residual sales from Half-Life 2 and Halo 3 there's just no room in this year's game market for average to mediocre games.

The Simpsons name hasn't really helped the multitude of other games that have come out with it plastered on there. The movie might help but really I think its a bit more of a stigma to have Simpsons in a game title.

I think you inadvertantly made a great point there. A lot of people are going to look at this and say "nah, not worth $60."

Went to Target first (on Oct 31st) and they pulled them out of the back - no poster or homerball so I declined purchasing there. Then I went to a close by GS to see if I could switch Battalion Wars 2 to the Simpsons and get a Homerball. No luck on that as they only had Homerballs for the preorders. Then I went to the far away EB where I actually preordered it and at first they told me they were all out of Homerballs, but then they found one. I would have cancelled on the spot if they didn't have my preorder bonus. They said they only got half the number they needed for the preorders. Also, no posters there either. And so it does - "Gamestop Exclusive! Bartman poster". I was wondering, actually, why I didn't hear any disc rattle when I was carrying it. Now I know why - a poster is stuffed in there. I should have checked out which one Target had. I'm guessing that a poster shoved into a video game case is not of the highest quality though ;).

I'm trying to decide if I'm going to keep this or return it (or, possibly, sell it) and just rent the game. The shortness of the game combined with the average scores is making me wince at paying $60, even in credit, for it.

Scorch - Well, go figure. I've given up on Gamecrazy on preorder bonuses because they never seem to get them so I use my very limited EB/GS credit on things where I want preorder stuff and just use GC for the regular purchases. So I never even considered using GC - I figured the ball was an EB/GS exclusive anyway. Pretty pathetic that this big Mall store only got 5 of them.

For those who have it, is the camera better than the demo? That alone made me not want to get the game anymore, at least not at the $60 price point.

I ended up using the 10% off coupon on the pickup, so I ended up getting the game for $54, though it's sitting unopened at the moment. Funny thing is that it also took off 10% on my EDGE card renewal and the Persona 3 guide I picked up at the same time.

Well, see, how come I didn't know about that? I should have picked it up with that coupon as well. D'oh!

This may have had one of the worst demos I've ever played. I just could not get into it at all.

That may be a stretch, but it wasn't as impressive as I was hoping. I'm about the biggest Simpsons fan there is, but I'm not dumb...so I'm not spending $60 on this.

I just think they picked an awfully annoying/aggravating boss fight type level to choose. I didn't get any enjoyment out of the level at all.

Anyone know if there will be any more of the homer ball coming to stores? I asked a BB employee and they only got 3 that sold out. (11/4-11/10) circuit city ad states that the Wii version would come with one.

has anyone open their copy yet? I wanna open it based on that SUPER HAPPY FUN FUN level, but I'm still kinda wary seeing how I spent $60 on this....in store credit, but it's $60 none the less.

Just played the first stage and I really like it. If you are a fan of the show it is worth a try.

Maybe a Simpsons arcade game is coming? THAT would be sweet!!!

They had one a long time ago, it was awesome.

it's fun, but I be damned if that camera doesn't ruin it a bit. I was trying to go up a building as bartman and the camera stayed static while the controls didn't

Glad it turned out decent I didn't hate the demo I thought it was good but had problems. I was going to buy it with $.50 on the dollar store credit but even at $30 IGNs review turned me off. I'll save it for a rental early next year when a new release drought comes. Way to many other games more deserving right now.
Sounds like a perfect rental to me:
Lasting Appeal
An under eight-hour game is supplemented by shoddy co-op gameplay and ultimately useless item collection.

The camera hasn't bothered me too much, the crappy tacked on last minute "co-op" has really bothered me however.

I've been playing through this as a rental and it is pretty good (but I am definitely returning my $60 EB copy). I will have the main game finished on my 3rd day playing, most likely. I've been going slow, too, trying to collect all the stuff though I haven't done too well with that. I guess that will have to wait until I buy it cheap later.

The Time Attacks add replay. At first I thought they'd just be running through the levels as quickly as possible since they give you "target" times for the normal levels. But it turns out there are different challenges depending on the level. Some are fun, some aren't, but each one has a 5 point achievement so there's some incentive to play through them all ;).

The Super Happy Fun Fun Game level is awesome though. Not so much for the gameplay, but it is funny as hell. I haven't tried the Medal of Homer, Grand Theft Scratchy, or Neverquest ones yet. Some of the ones leading up to that are pretty funny too. There's one where you rescue the 8-bit Simpsons - hilarious. Will Wright fans and haters alike will enjoy that one.

Oh, and the camera sucks big time. You have full control over it at most times, and I don't have a problem with that or the fact that it gets stuck on things occasionally (which seems to be one of the main review gripes). What I didn't get from the reviews is that the camera TRIES to be dynamic and whips all over the place, thus often disorienting you or screwing you up. I'll have to see if there's an option to disable that - I'd prefer full control on my own.

I managed to get 2 Homerballs, one at Gamestop and one at Best Buy. I just asked for one at GS and I bought a CD at Best Buy and the Homerball showed up at 0 cents on the receipt. So for everyone who wants a Homerball, go to Best Buy and look for a display for the Simpsons Game and there should be a bunch of them. You more than likely have to buy something with it though.

After a bunch of thinking and reading opinions from here and reviews, I don't think this is worth buying now. This game is gonna be a clearance purchase for me many months from now. But, if anyone bought this game at Target and wants to sell me their poster let me know.

The one thing people did not mention enough is how funny the game really is. The jokes are great, and most of the simpson regular appears. At times it feels like a real simpson episode. Just finished the 4th mission and i would say the camera is not a problem so far.

I think I said the Super Happy Fun game section was funny. It is definitely a funny game - probably the most humorous I've ever played. I'm not sure if any other game has made me laugh out loud like this one has on occasion.

As for the camera, try doing the building-to-building wall jumping bit with Bart in Springfield and tell me you don't detest the camera after that ;). And also the Time Attack for the Happy Fun game level. It is particularly horrible there, and for no reason (as it is out in the open).

I'm only about six or seven levels into this, but so far it's really funny. It's definitely the funniest game I've ever played.

Up until that very point in the game, I had no real problem with the camera. After about 15 minutes or so, I finally reached that damn lunchbox!!

I am getting this(and Death Proof) for Christmas. I can't wait to get it. I got my copy from Target so I could get the Fish Bulb poster. One of my favorite episodes. I am a big Simpsons fan and can't wait to play this game when I celebrate Jebus' berfday. I enjoyed the demo and can't wait to see the whole thing.

You'll love it if you a big simpsons fan,and thats coming from anothe big simpson fan

Just beat it tonight... This game has one wacky and random ending. After the last level where you fight Matt Groening himself, Lisa builds a stairway to Heaven out of the buildings of Springfield with her Buddha power. At the gates of Heaven, Homer and Bart have to fight Shakespeare, then, after a bunch of old enemies from the game, Benjamin Franklin who spilts into several mini-Franklins. Then, finally, you have a DDR style match with God himself. Unfortunately the 360 d-pad makes this part nearly unplayable (you have to push the d-pad in the different directions to match the DDR-style arrows and it is nearly impossible not to push an extra direction or two which drains your health) but I muddled through it on my son's game. Now I have to do it again on my save .

Then I went back and found the rest of the cliches which is pretty fun - most are no trouble to get but some are easily missable during normal play.

Overall, it was definitely a fun game and well worth a rental for sure. I'm glad I returned my $60 copy though (just did that today). For the hardcore completists (I'm usually one but I'll have to wait till I pick it up cheap later) there are two additional things you can do beyond completing the story and the cliches, the first being mundane and the second challenging. First, you can collect all the character-specific icons (in all the levels and the Springfield hub where there's 75 for each character). Second, you can complete all the Time Challenges. Some of the time challenges are very easy, and some aren't, but overall it would take some work to get them all completed.

One of many hilarious quotes:
Mr. Sparkle: "Head without body can eat all day and never up-throw!"

I'm so pissed. I'm over halfway through the game, and I have a corrupted save file.
