Anybody know any good deals on a stud finder? I need more shelf space in my room but... have no room for the ones that stand on the floor so I'm getting some hanging CD/DVD shelves.

A strong magnet and a tape measure works just as well, and much much cheaper.
Use the magnet to find a single stud.. provided your walls were built to a normal standard, the studs are 16" apart.. use the tape measure, go over 16" and you should be good to go.

Most are screws these days.. but yes... but thats also how stud-finders work.
