View Full Version : Harry Potter 1-7 Hardcover Box Set $116 + Free Ship
Product Page (http://www.amazon.com/Harry-Potter-Boxset-Books-1-7/dp/0545044251/)
Averages out to around $16.72 a book, which is a very good deal. Barnes & Noble sells the same set for $137 + $10-20 in shipping fees.
You can preorder now and it'll be shipped to you free after book 7 comes out.
Credit goes to my friend Jim for notifying me about this deal.
EDIT: Unfortunately, it looks like Amazon added a shipping cost of $3.50 earlier this morning. Those who got their orders in last night are not affected. This increases the total price to $120.50, which is still around $30 cheaper than Barnes & Noble.

I guess it's a good deal if you don't have a Scholastic store in your city. They run B1G1F sales all the time and I scored my Harry Potter books (1-6) there.
Actually, the sale started this week again and if you want the books for about $10-12 each, go there and get them (I'm a true CAG so every penny I save makes me happy).
It's a cool case for the books though

I might be getting that. I bought the books as they were released, but then family members would take them and read them and muss them up. I love the case and everything. Very tempting. Thanks OP!

Special Shipping Information: This item is not eligible for FREE Super Saver Shipping. This product will incur a shipping surcharge of $3.50 in addition to the standard shipping fees. See details.
Whoa, it looks like Amazon added a $3.50 shipping charge earlier this morning. It's a bummer, but the total is still around $30 cheaper than B&N's deal. If you got in on this last night, you still get free super saver shipping, which is nice.
The most common complaint is that you can't purchase the box only. I knew that this was coming (heck, Scholastic releases a new boxed set after every installment), so I purposely held off until the end of the series to buy the whole set at once. If you do have individual books, I suppose you could sell them if you're up for the effort (I received GoF as a gift years ago and I'm selling that to make way for this). If the box alone becomes available, hopefully someone will post about it here.
It looks like the Scholastic Stores are only located in New York, so if I live outside of the area, am I out of luck? $10-12 per book is a smashing deal, though -- are they hardcover?

yeah i was gonna jump on one of those earlier boxed sex myself but doing a search on amazon i saw how they had 4 book sets and 5 book sets and 6 book sets so it made sense to wait till all 7 were in a set. and nwo that they will be in that sweet box its all good i just hope they dont run out before i can get the money for it.

They dont actually charge you for it until it ships.

He's working around Cheapy's affiliate link generator. The IP resolves to Amazon, but that way he can leave his affiliate ID intact and make money instead of Cheapy
(the OP may or may not know this, of course...)
