Okay, so yesterday I boot up my 360 and there is an update available. So naturally I agree to it and download. My 360 goes off and then restarts. Then my controller lights are all flashing. I wait and wait. They are still flashing. There is no response as I am pushing the buttons. I messed with it and nothing. The controller worked great before the download. So I went out and bought another controller, and it worked fine. Just to let you know, the controller that was killed was a Pelican. The new controller was a licensed Mad Cats. I just think that is crappy if the download disables unlicensed controllers! Anyone else have this problem???

Well I tried the (KILLED) controller on my friends 360 and it worked fine. But he has not downloaded the update yet.

Why are you buying 3rd party controllers in the first place?

Is it wireless? Taking out the batteries and then resync it?

Nope there are no 3rd party wireless as of yet. MS put a cap on that. GH2wanted to use Wireless but MS wouldn't let them.

You should have just turned off your 360 (that will turn the controller off aswell) and then turned it back on with the controller. Your controller was not killed.

It's trying to connect with the console. There's a small button below the 360 power button, press it. Then press the button on the controller surrounded by the lights. The lights on both the console and controller will sort of flash in a circle for a moment as they are connecting. This should fix your problem.

Oh, oops. Then you might be screwed. Since I have a 3rd party wired controller I might wait to update then. Good luck!
