Sort of a weird 360 question

Hey guys,
I'm gonna be getting a 360 fairly soon and I just had a question. How long is the AV cable? I was gonna have the 360 a little bit away from the TV and I need to know if I'll have to move my setup around. Thanks!

The component cables that came with my premium at launch are ~8ft long.

Do you have a television that supports HDMI?
Would you be interested in using your 360 as a media hub?

If you answered yes to those questions, buy the elite. If not, save your $80 (and spend it on a warranty...!?)

The regular cables are about 6-8ft. But Unless you plan on getting in on the IPTV, or want a bigger hard drive then get the elite. If you plan on casual gaming, and not many downloads get the premium even though the 20gbs on the hdd are more then enough.

The TV though doesnt come with a tuner? Am I right in thinking that means if its not hooked up to a cable box it wont display like any tv signals flying through the air, as well all know the magically do?

That's right...you'll need something along the lines of a cable box or a DirecTV receiver to watch TV if you don't have a tuner.

The TV I have displays 1080p so if I didn't already have a 360 I'd go ahead and get an Elite. That said, the whole HDMI addition won't be a big difference for you if your TV only goes 1080i or 720p. In which case, I'd say just get a Premium system and save yourself some cash.

Of course, I guess the main thing in all this is whether or not you're big into downloading stuff off of XBox Live. If you're not, then the 20GB hard drive with a platinum system will do you just fine like the previous poster said. If you think you'll be downloading a lot of games, TV shows and/or movies off of Live I'd say go for the Elite.

get the elite ONLY if you need the bigger HD and you have no other way to connect to your tv other than HDMI....You cannot tell the difference in 1080p on most sets between VGA, HDMI or component (if your tv supports 1080p through component)
