I was looking to purchase this controller adaptor from Gamestop for $14.99 & noticed that Barnes & Noble has the same adaptor for $10 cheaper. Standard shipping costs $2.95.

There are conflicting reports that this work for Guitar Hero & Guitar Hero II, but the main reason why I'm buying the adaptor is for my fighting sticks for PS2 (there is no lag on either VF5 or Tekken 5 per this review: http://sdtekken.com/tech-area/converters/pelican-usb-converter/pelican-usb-converter-review/ )
This is more than likely a pricing error on Gamestop's part (as they supply B&N with their videogame section) but the release date & UPC reflect that the adaptor is the recently released Pelican version (and not the prior version pictured on the website). Enjoy!

I wouldn't buy it till more peripherals are supported, like DDR pads.

Assuming the one B&N is selling is actually the newer one, I believe I read that supported all of the dance pads that a reviewer tried. However, it doesn't support hammer-ons and pull-offs for Guitar Hero, which is lame. Also no rumble...
EDIT: Found the article.

I went ahead and ordered two. I will definitely use it for GH for now, hopefully I will test it and it can work w/ my DDR Pad (I have a cobalt Flux), but if not I will just keep my PS2...but would be nice not to have to use it anymore....
*EDIT*
Looks Like I was too trigger happy because of the $4.99 price...that lack of working w/ my beatmania and which frets I'm holding down is gonna suck >_< I guess I will just keep my ol' PS2 and perhaps even return these....

Wow, this kind of sucks. I just bought it from Gamestop.com for $15. Oh well, I need another one too.
There is a thread in the PS3 forum that discusses what works and what people are having problems with - http://www.cheapassgamer.com/forums/showthread.php?t=137418. As far as I tested it, Beatmania controller and DDR pads both work fine. However, there were some issues with Taiko Drum master and Guitar Hero 2 as described.

Aw, nuts. I went ahead and ordered one under the impression that it supported rumble. Aw well, I'm sure I can use it sometime..

awesome. Ordered one, thanks op. I was going to order one at $15 + shippng from Gamestop but this is half price! Now that my PS3 can play with dance pads I will put away my PS2 for good.
The irony is that to the right of the product, it reads "Usually ships within 24 hours from Gamestop".
