Need a faster answer CAG!

I have a pressing Ebay issue and I was wondering if I could ask CAG about it.
I bought a lot of Suikoden games from a member with 100% feedback and I've been having trouble paying him because he apparently misspelled his email address when he registered with Paypal. It also won't let me pay through Paypal's site using the item number, user name, and the correct email addy. He says he can't change what he has it registered as and he wants me to pay through just Paypal as "Goods" I feel wary about it because the payment wouldn't be tied to the auction itself. Should I do this?

No way. At best, he has low feedback and is an idiot who can't spell his e-mail address. At worst he's a scammer. I wouldn't send money until he corrects his paypal situation.

Well apparently he mistyped his Paypal addy for that specific auction. It's been a long time since I listed something on Ebay, but does it ask you everytime for your Paypal address?

I would email/call the paypal/ebay service people explain the situation and maybe they'll contact him and allow the change of email, but not worth risking a lot of money

Ebay told me it'd be fine and I'd be protected, so I went ahead and did it. Forgot about their live chat function for their CSRs.
