I saw the simialr posts in the Wii forum, but i'm guessing this is not new in the GC forum as well?
Basically, playing Windwaker (the Gamer Choice version) to complete all heart pieces... I played for about two hours and i started to notice the vertical lines on the screen! This has never happen to me, so immediately, i saved the game and turned off the GC. The GC is hooked via standard AV, the Wii is via component. I use to play GC games on the Wii, but i hate to attach the wavebird and mem card on/off whenever playing GC games on the Wii. So, i basically reconnected the GC (kinda revive it).
Now, my guess is my GC is getting old? Or perhaps i played too long? Or there's a problem with Nintendo's graphic card?

I noticed this problem when I hooked up my gamecube to my new hdtv. Maybe it has something to do with that.
Perhaps Tingle is to blame...

Strange though, it's not like i have been playing Windwaker since yesteday... I have playing the game for a while, never notice the lines before. I might check it again tonight, see if it's still there. If yes, i will pop into the Wii and see if still like that... I rarely play my GC, it's a year and half old, but not much abuse though, so seeing it doing that kinda piss me off...

I've seen them too, most noticeably during the day/night transitions. I assumed they were normal (glitch?).

Ay, i just confirmed it... i played it again last night, no heating issue, and yes, the vertical lines appeared...
Anyhow, it's strange that i didn't notice this before until now... Yes, it happened after the day/night transition, but only if it's a stormy night... Maybe it's a glitch, but again, i have sailed the sea many many hours before and i didn't notice it until now. If it's a glitch, it should be consistent... Weird, total mind boggler. I just hope this is not a common problem in the Wii (i haven't notice any thing like this yet when i play my Wii, but i read about it in the Wii forum).

I've noticed this as well, it never really bothered me enough to research it.

True, it doesn't really bother me when i play the game... just that recently i read a similar thread in the Wii forum, which got me worried, i.e. is it my TV, GC or just the game... between now, i'm still not sure it's the game or GC, b/c i'm too lazy to pop in another GC game to confirm. However, my guess is the game.

I read that it has to with the GCN's filtering. Only happens on that game and only at certain times.
