I rented it yesterday, and beat it today. Man, I'm glad I didn't waste $50 on that. It's a pretty good game, though. Worth the 99 cent rental. Anyone here actually buy it for $50...or any other price for that matter?

Man, where do you get 99 cent rentals...at all of the local video stores it's $6 for 5-7 days, but if you hate the game and are done with it on day 1, you're still out $6.

Blockbuster.
In my area, Hollywood Video is sent out coupons for 99 cent rentals...and Blockbuster accepts them. 8)

Everyone says the game is too short but compared to the first Max Payne, they both have 24 levels (ie chapters) so you shouldnt be surprised. Compared to other games, I could see how its on the short side, but its so great. Quality over quantity.

It might be worth picking up at a lower price, but as it stands, its too short to warrant a purchase.

Still a great game, though, if you're a fan of the genre (or melodrama).

Great game. I still haven't beat it - stuck on that sniper level. It's one of the few games that actually takes advantage of the Xbox graphics.

Bought mine for $25, after GGC and $30 sale on BB. I got the PC version so I dont think I got jipped, there are tons of Mods available for DL that makes it worth $25. But for Xbox or PS2 this is a rental.

My friend paid $50 for Max Payne 2 (even though I told him to wait a few days, at which point he couldve paid $30). That's what he gets for being uninformed!
Anyhow, he's going to let me borrow his copy, so I won't need to spend any money on it.

I payed 20 for the pc version using targets raincheck on madden. I agree that the mods make it alot more fun. Duel sawed off shotguns anyone?

I got it for 20 with the Black Friday EB sale. I was pretty disappionted with the game overall. Granted this is coming from someone who was literally obsessed with the original(I have beat it probably about 10 times)
And comparing length of the games, Max PAyne is way longer than MP 2
Worth 20, but no more. If you have never played the original you owe it to yourself to do so(directed to everyone who reads this). Expecially when you can go to Wal-Mart and pick up Max Payne and Mafia for less than 20 total for the PC

got mine for $60 with the GTA double pack at bestbuy, so technically it cost me $30.

Did anyone else read the subject of this message and think: "What, Max Payne is like midget short? (he looked normal sized in the first one)" and then go on to think how cool a midget action game would be... and then go on to program a midget action game only to have it turned down by publishers?

I think in addition to all the mods for the PC version I think there's also additional levels you can download that were made by the MP2 team themselves. I guess they heard all the complaints about Max Payne being temporally-challenged as well

Or you could say it cost 20, since you also got GTA III and GTA: VC.
It's all in where the numbers go : )
