This is dumb, I'm sorry.

But after 9 LONG, LONG, LONG months my sister FINALLY had this damn baby. See, we found out she was pregnant when she was ONLY 3 weeks..and her due date is Friday..so yeah it's been a LONG 9 months..lol

I know no one cares, but this is my first nephew.
So, if your an aunt/uncle..just post something nice, that's all. :)

I can't wait to be the cool uncle who buys him better gifts then his parents on Christmas & Birthdays!!! :)

Have a nice day everyone ^_^

being the cool Uncle rocks. I just go home to my quiet/kidless house and my sister and her husband get to actually deal with the brats. Just kidding (kinda). My sister's having her third kid this December, so that's fun. I bought my nephew and neice a Gamecube and a bunch of games when they were like 4 and 3. I spoil them. It's fun and makes me look cool!

I have both a niece and nephew. The coolest part about being an uncle is that you get to watch little babies develop into people which is the greatest thing.
My Nephew is 5 I remember the day we took him home from the hospital. He cried all the way home, few months later he crawled, then walked, few more months and they start talking. Then after that time flies, I mean really really flies. It doesn't seem like 5 years ago we brought my nephew home from the hospital but we did.

Plus being an uncle you don't have to be an "adult" with them. I've got my 4 year old niece acting like a zombie. She holds out her arms and says Braaaaains, Braaains. Thats the type of shit you can't get away with as a parent. They're no rules as an uncle. So start getting your corruption ready cause I high recommend the zombie act, that shit is funny.

In a weird sorta way this reminds me of a joke I heard on Howard Stern yesterday ...

Whats the difference between a BMW and a pile of dead babies?

I dont have a BMW in my garage

That joke is cruel and irrelevant, but I still laughed for some reason.

I'll never be a directly related aunt, as I have no brothers and sisters. Perhaps I'll be an aunt to my husband's nieces/nephews when I get married though (not that I have any rush to get married, but you know what I mean).

My fiance's brother had a little girl a year and a half ago, and my fiance and I have been over at their place every other week playing with the baby. (He plotting to be the "cool uncle".) It's nice to be able to play with kids and have no responsibility for their behavior :)

Grats! I'm an uncle of two (also 'the cool uncle') girls. I'm sure you'll have a lot of fun with your nephew; Graystone is right, you can pretty convince them to do some funny things (but don't be cruel :p).

Congrats! Being an uncle rules... even though I'm not one technically speaking. I have a godchild who calls me uncle and it is really fun to spoil her. I am a parent though (with another due in 6 weeks!) so I know a thing or two about babies and crap.

Yes Cruelty isn't funny plus thats reserved for their siblings. Like my sister helping get my finger chopped off when I was 4 They sewed it back on, and it works fine. I was so young it didn't bother my body to much due to the lack of nerves you have. But don't be cruel they're children and it takes a very small person mentally to mess with a kid in a cruel way. Plus I might come and fuck you up for doing so. ;)

Thanks guys! :)
His name is (don't know how exactly she is spelling it) Jayden. My first response was "Oooh like Britney Spears & Will Smith's son?"
..that made her silent, lmao

I'm not a huge fan of the name, but it'll grow on me.
Just got back from the hospital.. he's really adorable! I usually never care for kids or anything..but I guess when it's ACTUALLY something related, it means more :)

Can't wait to be the insane cool uncle who brings over the cheat codes for all the video games.. and play with him every Thanksgiving/Christmas! Ahh, another 4 or 5 years to go!..Siiigh!

Probably am going to be REALLY spoiling this kid..because she had a REALLY rough time today (..she had emergency c-section..:-( ) and doesn't think she wants to have anymore kids. I'm gay, so that rules out my OWN kids and I don't want to adopt--(plus I'm really not fit to be a parent, IMO LOL)
And my younger brother is only 10..so as long as he don't go around knocking up some ho's in a few years..it be may QUITE along time before I have another nephew/niece around.

Glad to see everyone else is the cool uncle around here ^_^

Still, I'm not gonna discriminate against the kid just because of his name. Congrats dude!!!

From a parent perspective, it's great to see the cool uncle/aunt around. If you ask my six year old who his best friend is, he says my 27 year old nephew-in-law, which cracks me up. They saw TMNT together, just them, when it came out, and they love hanging out together.

But seriously, you know what really is kinda creepy to me??
I'm 22, my sister is 26. Now I can remember us being 7 and 11 and FIST FIGHTING over Genesis & SNES games..lol..and now she's SOMEONE'S Mother?! It's just.. so bizzare.

What makes it even weirder, is now I feel OLD(er). And my parents, who are both 48, (yes they are old to me because parents are always OLD..but 48 isn't reallly old) are now grandparents..and that like makes them officially OLD..

It's just weird really.
Anyone else feel like this when you FIRST became an uncle/aunt..?

Congrats on being an uncle lilboo. I won't have that title unless I marry a girl who has siblings (gotta love the only child deal). By the way, do what my uncle did for me. Get the loudest, most obnoxious toys possible. The kid will love em and it's the perfect way to drive your sister nuts.

You talk about feeling old at 22? I'm feeling it and I'm still about 4.5 months away from turning 21 and I feel old. It really hit me when I thought of this years high school freshmen being born in 1992/93 and then when my neighbors' daughter whom I've known since she was like 5, is going to be one of those freshmen. It's a mad, mad world.

(Actually, they are adding a Babylagoon in the near future..so, I'm probably gonna have to set that up lol)

Thanks! And yeah, I remember my Aunts and Uncles getting me many many things that were loud & pointless. They are the BEST gifts ever. Loud gifts, or messy gifts. Creepy Crawlers anyone?

..Still remember way back..I think it was Christmas 92, possibly 93..when my Uncle Jimmy got me & my sister Mario Kart for us for Christmas. What a great present! It's things like THAT, that make me hope that I can eventually get him a gift that was SO great and look back on it..14-15 years later and go "That was SUCH an awesome gift"..like I just did :)

Well despite what my lady friend may want some day, I don't plan on having children and the background of my brother's myspace page is the notebook... so I don't think he's having children anytime soon enither. My other brother is only 14, so I think my parents have got a few years before they'll be "grand".

Congrats man. My eldest bro and his wife have a 2 1/2 year old boy. Its really cool because you can have a hand in the learning/growing up without taking responsibility.

I have 2 other brothers and I'm the only one he calls Uncle. He calls my other bro "Nono" (constant smoker and as a result is rarely near him) and my younger bro "Ducky" (thanks to me wanting to be the only uncle). I love it when older relatives tell him to go to his uncle and he looks at one of my bros in confusion and runs to me.
