That seems like a pretty damn nice deal to me if it's in good shape. New that would run you something like $2500+ I think, and they don't lose their value very fast. Very nice piece of machinery. I have done a lot of research into Mac stuff lately as I just bought a Mac Pro last week.

I got this e-mail from him
Yeah it is still avaiable. Have had it for about 8 months. I was trying to sell it before moving which didnt happen. I am in DC now. I would still sell it if you are still interested. Its up to you. we could do paypal or something like that with protection for both of us. Let me know either way. Later.
I found him on a local message board. DC is about 2 hours away from me. What do you guys think? Is there anyway to buy it and have it shipped with protection for myself?

good deal, but if it's only 2 hrs away, I'd make the drive.

Thanks for the advice, I figured this would end up being my best option.
I e-mailed him with some questions. He said it is Mint and works perfectly, but I still always like to ask questions regarding major purchases. Making sure screen was bright, no dead pixels, battery worked well, didn't get too hot/fan wasn't too loud, serial sticker (COA), if there was any warranty coverage left, if he was the original owner.
I know it looks like a long list, but I felt my questions were fair considering the purchase.

those are more than fair questions, for the amount you're going to spend, I think you're allowed to ask whatever the fuck you want since it's not new. :D
good luck with that though.

yeah that is a hell of a deal at 1500 dollars. even with 8 months on it, it still should have 4 months left on the apple original warranty. so if you do get it, make sure you change everything in your name and if something goes wrong soon then you can go ahead and have the warranty to have it fixed. i wish they had deals like this in oregon where i live

If it's still under warrenty definatly a good deal, you can still get Applecare on it too with the money saved off a new unit for a nice extra couple years of warrenty.

Just an update. The guy still hasn't e-mailed me back after I asked the questions, so who knows
I found another one, but he has moved to europe and wants to use moneybookers. I love all of these people who list there stuff for sale then happened to move several state OR COUNTRIES away.
I don't know whats worse, the scammers, or the non-scammers who think you should just wire money to them like they have lived next door to you for 20 years.
