I went out of town and visited the local Fry's there was literally 50-100 copies of Virtua Tennis on PSP, 40-50 copies of Maximo Army of Zin, 30-40 copies of Viewtiful Joe 1.. guess they are all that bad. :D Fry's being a household of electronic goods but they don't need to depend on selling games of course. But I was suprised not to see a single Dynasty Warriors 5 in. Surpisingly, I ran across a romance of three kingdoms 8 this rang up 11.XX had to grab that one.

While gamestop gets load from replenishments probably the last being a KOEI game I was suprised to see gamestop/eb getting a bunch of Dynasty Warriors 5 (I havn't seen this game new anywhere within the last year or so at a local store being new that is) in...yet this game still didn't sell enough to break the greatist hits point?

Although my biggest complaint would have to be how they get every copy of their games on sale this wk or according to locations as I've heard or at least to my experience, seeing that 3/4 GS/EB I went to had all their games in a bin and gutted ( I know it's not that limited but, this sucks for collectors who are hunting for FF 12) then 1 of them actually had all their advertised values sealed in a bin.

Btw does anyone know if FF 12 CE is suppose to have the funny shrinkwrapping around it? I saw only about 3 or so in the sealed bin.

The old game situation is easy to explain. EB store in city A sells four copies of Virtua Tennis on PSP. Store in city B has 5 copies of Virtua Tennis on PSP and has never sold any. Store in city B will ship copies of Virtua Tennis that they can't sell to store in city A, which has sold copies of the same game before. It's all in the interest of moving product as quickly as possible. Same thing with Fry's and any other store. Happens all the time.

Honestly, I rarely buy new games anymore and when I buy them I want them complete and unopened, but the Game Days sale would have to be renamed the Shoplifters Special if every GS kept out every copy of EVERY game sealed just to please collectors(which are probably only 5-10% of their biz anyway, soccer moms n spoiled brats being most of the other 80+%, regular shoppers who just want complete games in decent shape beingthe OTHER 10%).

As for the old games deal, Scorch had it dead on, most retailers will ship product from stores where it's NOT selling to stores where it's moving crazy numbers because as we know, clearance pricing stuff does not a real profit make.

ah there is another another problem with this sale, as the gutted new games are on sale, some EB/GS do not bother shrinkwrapping them when people purcahse the items or doing the old method, placing a sticker seal while the game is placed inside a protective sleeve.

When I was in store some old mom asked how she would return it since its a gutted copy. They said they didn't have a sealed one to begin with, more like they gutted every game from the sale to begin with.

Of course there's always the pricematching method but sometimes it's not worth the hassle.

Its strange that I didn't have this problem at my Ebgames with the gutted games many are reporting. Its a small stand-alone store with 2 employees working and the bin was like 2ft away from the register so I guess they can keep a pretty good eye on it.
