myke, I'll agree with that about Paris Hilton because she is completely worthless, but they fact the other two are so self-destructive is just weird. It isn't the first time famous people have destroyed themselves, but to see young women who had clean images beforehand (whether or not manufactured) is pretty strange in the infomation age when it is hard to keep bad behaviour private. Maybe they'll pull a Drew Barrymore and get it together, but it doesn't look like it will happen anytime soon.

Then again, we hear about Adam Jones and Chris Henry quite a bit too. Maybe they'll all get together and write a book one day. :lol:

Perhaps, but publicizing the matter is silly. It gets in the way of real news, it makes a very private situation public, it erroneously treats this person as "worthy/not worthy," it ignores the very real problems that many non-celebrities face like this on a daily basis, and, most importantly, it is all premised upon this incredibly phony notion that somehow "public stigma" will help end these problems. It's a problem because (1) that mentality (deterrence) just doesn't work period, and (2) even if it did, so much of what celebrities do, both routine/mundane and exotic, are treated with identical fervor by the media and paparazzi, that there's no way to discern when and if people are being stigmatized.

I think it's callous and shitty to be reporting and taking pictures of people entering/exiting rehab. I'd rather be a lawyer than paparazzi.

Indeed. No SNAFUs since taking those steps in dealing with her demons through rehab. For all anyone can in good/fair faith judge based on what we know from afar, she's done a commendable job of turning around from the destructive path of months past. She has exited 'out of control' status and jumped back on the path towards good health and productivity.

Paris had the DWI plus the parole violation by driving with a suspended license, is known to be active with pot (or perhaps more), and she's got that 23 days in jail coming up from the aforementioned violation. So she's got issues, but for the most part, it appears we're likely talking about a casual pot/alcohol user who has made a few unfortunate driving decisions. Out of control? In some ways, obviously, but not on the hugely extraordinary levels implied by some.

Lindsay, as far as these three celebrities go, seems to be in her own league at this point as far as being the most questionable and perhaps out of control.

Actually, here is what I fear. I think all 3 of them are going down a bad path (Paris, maybe a bit slower, but they are all going down a dark path) and one of them will, I'm guessing in the next 5 years, either kill someone or die themselves.

What will be sickening is that, at least one of the other ones will wake up. So, if Lindsey runs someone over and kills them, that might be the wakeup call that Britney needs.
