This one guy in front of me in the one GS I stopped in yesterday was trading in a decent sized stack of games for Xbox. So, I asked him what he had and there in the stack, I notice Stubbs The Zombie(which I already own, but MAY put on my TL) and Ninja Gaiden Black.

Now, being the total cheapass I am, I've waited like crazy for the Kmart clearance price freeze to stop and prices to start dropping again. That, however, seems as likely to happen as EA getting a proverbial corporate heart.

So, being the not so shrewd haggler I am, I wait till they offer him whatever they're going to offer for the 2 games. I then quickly add $4 to the total(Stubbs was getting $4, NGB was getting him $7) and offer him $15 CASH.

He agrees and they go through the rest of the transaction for the other games(Samurai Warriors and some other lackluster titles), etc, etc, etc.

I checked both games once we got outside, both MINT and complete, so I pony up the cash and off I go smiling all the way.

Sure, I could've MAYBE found NGB for cheaper, but Stubbs is getting hard to find in MY area, so I felt I got a great deal for both.

What do you think? $15 for both games? Good? Bad?

I'm surprised they didn't kick you out of there.

How do the GameStop Employees feel about it?

You would have to be a real dick, or a manager (hint: they're the same) to even care. If you just get paid to work there, why do you care if someone sells something somewhere else?

Now, if you're an employee and do this while working. . .

Oh yeah, the employee told me to 'take it outside', so I patiently waited and just went outside n checked the games thoroughly. I would've bought more of the games off him, but I didn't want to be TOO nosey on his trade transaction, but I wanted those two at least. Plus, I didn't bring a buttload of money with me, so I wouldn't have been able to offer him $$$ for too many.

The employee told me he made a couple deals outside like that with a few people before he got hired there, so I didn't feel so bad doing it.

When I used to work at Gamestop, I bought shit off customers all the time. We knew we were a devil corporation. The only reason the employee would get mad is they were going to offer the guy money for the games too :)

Same way at GameCrazy. I offered something once, and here strolls up my manager.. haha, I was like oh crap.. and he 1-upped my cash offer!

Oh well. I bought a mint/complete Final Fantasy 3 off of a guy for $20 tonight. I'm talkin like.. mint as in the manual has never even been opened. Pristine freakin' condition.

Way back when... I went to trade in my copy of the Halo 2 Multiplayer Map Pack at EB Games. While there, I saw a family about to buy it new. I very nonchalantly approached them, explained to them my situation, and offered to sell them my copy for $10 (it was msrp for $20). They agreed to it and bought it off of me for $15. Needless to say I was very pleased considering I had just scored the new Halo 2 maps for only $5, not to mention the big fat Halo 2 strategy guide that I got free with them.

Stealing business makes me feel 8-) .

I thought after the last 2 days of scorchingly humid and hot days, that I would find my copies of Stubbs and NGB melted into their respective cases by the oppressive heat. Thankfully though, the heat only withered ME, since I felt like I was about to pass out in the desert-like conditions over the past 2 days.

I hate to say this, but I WANT SOME fuckIN SNOW!!!!!
