I need to get a new email address. Any suggestions on a provider? I would really like one that works with Outlook. Thanks.

First: Even if it works with pop3/imap mail clients, why would you want to use outlook? the buggiest, stupidest mail client ever?
Second: Why would a _free_ service let you use a non-web client? that way you're using them for storage and bandwidth, and don't even view their ads, much less click on them. You'd need to find a service that's really generous or really stupid, or use hotmail - since m$ wants to have everybody use outlook.

Gmail is great but not open yet, yahoo seems like the best of the bunch. you may want to check spymac, heard good things about that too, plus you get a gig of space.

i like gmail the best, but most people cant get it yet (you need to be invited)
so out of the ones you CAN get, yahoo is probably the best of the bunch.

I have yahoo and gmail. I would recomend them both but I personally like yahoo better because it has alot of options and has a good spam filter

I don't think you should use Outlook. It isn't too hard to open your browser and type in the URL for the website.
I'd recommend Gmail if you have an invite, or simply Yahoo.
Gmail and Yahoo are both currently serving me very well.

I would really advise against using Outlook. Too many problems/holes in it...
As far as free, Yahoo is really good for free mail. I also like the one my school gave me...

If you're gonna go POP3, try Mozilla Thunderbird. And there are programs that will let you use Gmail through a POP3 client...

www.bloomba.com <--best email client ever
you cant use hotmail with it, but there is a program you can download that lets you. i forget the name of it (it might have been hotmail pop or something), but it didnt work as well as i liked it to. so i just got rid of it. trillian works just fine for alerting me when i get mail in my hotmail account (which i dont really use, except as a spam magnet.
yahoo email does include a pop3 email forwarding service, but you need to pay for it. i dont know exactly how much it is, but im guessing its $20 a month (this service includes a larger email account limit too).
and its possible that gmail will include a pop3 forwarding service for free when it becomes public. i'll cross my fingers.
