Excluding all the obvious hot-chick-related jobs,
I'd like to work for activision, circa 1980, on Atari 2600 games.
This hardware is probably the strangest, most fun and most challenging to work with.
Game programming nowadays? Naah. You'll work 60-70 hours a week, and if you're lucky, only hate your games when you're done; if not, you'll hate all of them.

Thankfully, I knee-deep in my dream job(s). Video production and anime/manga/video game reviewing. I once considered game designing when I was younger but I realized I'd rather play complete versions of games (though preview versions before release are fun once in a while). It's an everyday challenge trying to stay humble.

Eldad9....you hit the nail right on the freakin head. It's still fun though...I can't imagine doing anything else. I worked as a structural engineer for a few years before quitting after hating EVERY second of my professional life. The game industry is where I'll probably stay at, if I can.

This sounds similar to me. I wanted to make video games, but luckly I realized early on it just wasn't for me. I then went into Video Production and now work at a News satation.
But like I stated earlier I would really like to be a voice actor. Chris Latta is my idol.

You'd think that... up until you get a service call to go out and fix an executive's PC for the 10th time because the guy is just smart enough to really fuck himself up, and the people that work for and around him are too intimidated to tell him to just stop screwing with the machine.

Hey, as long as you know what you're in for.
I've seen the day to day operations at a couple of the Big 3 from multiple angles, and so long as you actually are qualified and actually do your work, you won't ever have a problem. (Save the times when they cull the workforce a little.)

I'm currently in a computer science Master's program, and I'm hoping to get a job in game programming after graduating. DVD = 4,500 MB
It's pretty difficutl to fill 4,500 MB unless you are just adding tons of video and audio clips.

i've gone through several...
- a top pro wrestling superstar (loved the "sport" since i was in 2nd grade... decided it wasn't for me when i realized that i hated pain)
- comic book artist/writer (a dream that a lot of us give up on, because there's 23094890328432 with the same dream, and only a few who get cut a break or are actually GOOD)
- comic shop owner (worked at a comic shop for 2 years and handled a lot of the work that the owner does... way overrated, boring, and it's not fun hanging out with and seeing the same dorks everyday... i'll stick to being a comic reader)
right now, the dream job is anything that'll make me a crapload of money real quick and is a guaranteed sure thing. anyone know what that is? i'm almost due for my routine switch of majors.

Race car drive... I mean come on they give you a car that has 800+ horsepower and tell you to make it go as fast as possible... Then if you win, in some races, they give you a million dollars. Where's the downside to that career, even if you weren't one of the top drivers you'd still get that excitement from racing down the track at almost 200 mph.

When I was younger, I wanted to be in Movie Special Effects, but now that it's all computer generated, that takes the fun out of it. I still wouldn't pass up a chance to work for Phil Tippett or Stan Winston, though.
Now that I'm older, I think I have my dream job. Computer Security Engineer. I get to hack computers all day, and generally prove how much smarter I am than all of the system administrators. Pay is good, too.

I used to wanna live in Africa in a mansion with an art studio. Now, I wanna do something in video games. Either rating them or being involved in their development would be nice. I hope to become successful in the above profession and then take a break to write a book or two. I also would love to be involved in some kind of anime or movie project. Overall, I wanna be like Tom Clancy. No, I don't mean I wanna write about military conspiracies, but I wanna be a media guru like him. By the end of my life, I'd like to have books, games, movies, and shows under my name.

I want to be a Theme Park manager. I love, love, love theme parks and would love to work for one and improve it and just be in the daily operations of one. I am going to a management school after I get out of high school. And then I am thinking about going to work for a theme park in Kansas City(Worlds of Fun). I will probably start out cleaning, working rides, stuff like that. But I figure that I can work my way up to a management position.
I just love improving things to make them look better, and I would love to see that people would be having fun and stuff. I guess even just working rides at an amusement park would be awesome for me. I love the atmosphere of them.
So there you go, that would be my dream job! :P
