Ok well when I return to college again for the fall I don't think I want to bring my 26" tube HDTV. It's too big and bulky. I was thinking about getting a LCD that I can use for my computer monitor this summer and then take to college as a TV. Any good deals on an LCD that can be used as a monitor and TV (has built in tuner). I would like it to have Component and HDMI inputs as well. A generic brand is fine (Id actually prefer it since itd be cheaper) as long as the quality is fairly decent. Thanks.

It's not the cheapest, but my brother has this model and it works pretty well for him.

Also, this one is cheaper and looks pretty nice.

I saw that but I don't think I'm comfortable buying a refurb that only has 90 days warranty. I didn't see anywhere on there to buy an extended warranty either. I was looking at this..

but ive never heard of the brand so I'd def have to buy the ext. warranty.

I was looking at this one myself, and it looked pretty good: http://www.amazon.com/Philips-23PF5320-Flat-Panel-Widescreen/dp/B000AD09IA/ref=sr_1_5/105-9774954-1567654?ie=UTF8&s=audio-video&qid=1182354256&sr=1-5

This thread will help me too, I guess, since I'm also looking for the same type of television where I can use it with my laptop. :D

Avoid the Insignia 19" like the plague. I bought it and later returned it today. I hooked it up to my computer and it just said NO SIGNAL. I hooked it up to another computer running Linux and it was all just a bunch of jumbled lines. I then hooked it up to the same Linux computer in Windows and it was back to NO SIGNAL. I called and they said the PC input was bad. If it was having trouble on day 1, I'd rather not have the TV. Oh well, the wait continues for me to get an LCD..

If you guys live in California and want to avoid tax/shipping, take a serious look at pcconnection. They've been around a while and are based in Ohio (?), so no tax.
I ordered a 32" from them for 470. They usually have some good deals too, and very active customer service (They called me to confirm that I was who I was - and calls on their hotline were answered with little to no waittime).

Just be careful buying refurbs from them as well, 90 days parts and labor. I think everything else is 1 year.

/edit/ I just realized that OP is from Ohio. Never mind about that whole tax thing then...that was my biggest draw to pcconnection.
