If I remember correctly, Bestbuy holds the money while the game is on backorder and then if they cancel it refund the money to you. I could be wrong though, I just seem to remember people complaining about that policy when bestbuy.com had the big 4.99 sale awhile back

I got game when it was in stock a few days before the CC deal broke. It's fun, but be ready for a hard game. And the xbox ver does have "tearing", I had hopes the tearing would only be at certain parts of the game but it seems to happen at every level at some point. However I would rather have a bit of tearing then a ton of slow down.

Spoke to BB customer service and they told me that if it doesn't come in another week, then they will refund or reship next day air for free. If anyone lives in the Paramus, New Jersey area they have Metal Arms instock for Gamecube and XBOX at the Garden State Plaza Best Buy. I recommend you order it online and use the store pickup option. I just picked up the XBOX Metal Arms at that store for $4.99.

Forgot to add that if you go there you should ask the employee to check the stock room for it. That is if you don't use the store pickup option from the online site.

BTW I have had Best Buy complete a backorder for me before.

Two people I know besides myself who ordered on the same day I did got emails saying it shipped and had the money taken from their credit cards but nobody has gotten the game yet. I called up Best Buy's customer service again and the lady claimed its USPS fault - that there's no way a mistake could've been made with Best Buy. I still find it odd that multiple people got the "IT SHIPPED!" email but haven't gotten the game yet.

She said to call back Saturday (officially 21 days from when it was "shipped") and they will either return my $5 or send me another copy of the game. I think I'll just get my $5 back since they're pretty untrustworthy when it comes to games.

Two people I know besides myself who ordered on the same day I did got emails saying it shipped and had the money taken from their credit cards but nobody has gotten the game yet. I called up Best Buy's customer service again and the lady claimed its USPS fault - that there's no way a mistake could've been made with Best Buy. I still find it odd that multiple people got the "IT SHIPPED!" email but haven't gotten the game yet.

She said to call back Saturday (officially 21 days from when it was "shipped") and they will either return my $5 or send me another copy of the game. I think I'll just get my $5 back since they're pretty untrustworthy when it comes to games.

I played my copy for about half an hour and haven't gotten back to it. You're not missing much.

I disagree . . . this is a very fun and immersive game.

Always a matter of taste, but I think is this one of the best "sleepers" in years.

If you liked the Ratchet and Clank games, you will likely dig this one.

I think I'm also out of luck on this one. I ordered it back on 7/2. It shows as shipped on 7/3. It hasn't shown up (I've probably placed at least 15-20 orders with them and have never had a problem). When I click on the tracking info, I get:

They must determine who gets backordered items by some kind of lottery. Triple Play was cancelled for me. I got in on the recent Metal Arms backorder and as of yesterday, my order is in process of being filled. I'm not betting that I'm getting it, but all this runaround really sucks.

No the bestbuy site says check back later. That is what pisses me off. I spoke to the "customer service" rep and said, "Check and see if it was delivered." She said, "I can't do that. Just sign the affadavit that you didn't receive the product."

I could understand if they had "proof" that it was sent, but they don't have anything, they are just treating their (admitted demon) customer like crap.

Trust me, I tried bitching and that got me nowhere. I am tempted to just dispute the charges and let them fight with my credit card company. I will swear an affadavit for them as how would they know whether or not I received a product. :evil:
