This deal isn't too bad. I got mine with Sonic 1, hookups and 2 6-button controllers from a private party for $15. The game and controllers were worth the extra money, though. :D

Yes. I got it this time. I hope i get a Genesis 1. i was considering ordering two, but changed my mind. Hey, witht the free shipping code, it said that i had free shipping when i ordered it, but than when i got my confirmation email, it said that it was $1.99 shipping and $1 tax bringing it to $15.98. Depends. Well, the third one is the worst. It doesn't play some games, and has no 32X or SegaCD compatibility.
The first and the second versions all depend onw hat you want. The First version has a headphone jack, while the second version can use the red/white/yellow cables as opposed to RF.

It's true that the Genesis 3, is not compatible with the Sega CD or the 32X. The Game Genie is also not compatible with the Genesis 3...

However, the model 1 Genesis is the best version. Simply because it has the headphone jack that's missing from the model 2 Genesis...

You also can use the a/v cable with the model 1 Genesis...:wink:

waitaminute, the genesis 1 is compatible with the sega cd 1, the genesis 2 is compatible with the sega cd 2 and the genesis 3, is pared down(smaller size, no headphone jack)i thought it was compatible with either the sega cd 1 or 2, but it fitting it together was messier(it wouldnt fit in the tray, the sega cd 1 has a tray to hold a model 1 genesis)

Point being: if you dont want a sega cd, then go ahead and get a model 3, bc the smallest one is the best(takes up less space) but if you really want a sega cd, well then try to get a deal on the sega cd first, then get a genny system that matches your sega cd model(one or 2) That is my suggestion anyways.

There is an extension plate for the Gen 1 SCD 2 combo that makes it so it does fit. Oh and this deal is back from the dead again. This is the last bump I will be giving it.
