View Full Version : Children of Mana-do you ever complete all the job postings?

I started Children of Mana a few days ago, and have been pleasantly surprised so far. Looks and sounds nice, and the gameplay's solid so far. I think this same thing in 3D would stink-reminds me of what I played of Kingdom Hearts, except in 2D it becomes a lot more fun and easier to control.

Anyway, I'm doing those jobs you get from the doll thing in the town, and thought I'd complete all of them before moving on to the next area...except I complete one, and there's always still 8 more posted.

So do the jobs ever run out, or do they just keep spawning more of them?

Should I just ignore them unless I need to build my character? So far I'm level 8, and only getting 2 experience points per kill at this point.

(If I have to gripe about something so far, it's the slow transitions, and the random way a few menus work better with the stylus even though it should use it at all).

I haven't played the game in a long time but if I remember correctly, the jobs keep getting posted, a lot of times with the same rewards. I think you can just do the jobs for specific rewards and level up normally through the main story. If you want to level up quickly, make the gem that gives you more experience.

Do you remember how to do that?

Anyway thanks for the info! I'll quit trying to complete them all now :D I thought it was a little weird when it seemed like the exact same rewards kept getting posted. At least it's a more satisfying mechanic than just doing completely random battles, I guess.

You'll always have 8 jobs, I believe. If you find rewards repeating and low experience being earned, just go on to the next area and you'll get new jobs with new rewards.

I figured out how to make an experience gem, so never mind about that :) I can see how maybe this is going to get really repetitive, but so far so good.

remember there are jobs you can get from story characters. One of them you will miss for good if you dont do it right away.

It gets very repetitive...yet i still enjoyed the game. The last bit of the game was a huge chore for me.

I fell asleep playing it again :( I'm about 6 hours in, and think I'm going to quit. It seems to just be the same basic "mash a button to clear a floor, then do it again 7 times, then go to a different dungeon and do it again 7 times".

Oh well, it still looks better than that PS2 entry in the series. 3D sounds like it would make this even worse, and clearing out your stats after every section?

EDIT: Well, still playing I guess :)
