I have been seeking a new official controller. I have tried all the major retailers and have come up empty-handed. I saw one 3 weeks ago at Sears but it's gone now. I have looked in to used ones at EB/GS and GameCrazy but they are dirty and abused. Any suggestions or do you know of any online store that might still have them? I hate setting up head shots just to miss because of a twitchy stick.
Should I buy one from Ebay from a Hong Kong seller? I'm kinda afraid to buy stuff from HK. Anyone have any experiences?
What about a XBox > PS2 Dual Shock adapter? Ebay has plenty for cheap but does anyone recommend one brand?
Any help, insight or advice is must appreciated.

word of advice about ebay: be careful about bootleg controllers. I bought one and didn't look close enough at the pics, and didn't even realize it when it came in the mail that it was bootleg. Auction said official controller S, and the thing looks so close it's crazy. The controller works just fine, but feels cheap, and the cord is about 4 feet long and doesn't have a dongel.

You might want to check KMart. That's where I found my last couple, new & sealed for $19 each.

You might want to consider getting a used controller and just taking it apart to clean it. It's really easy, all of the loose pieces within the controller fit like puzzle pieces back into where they are supposed to go so it's very difficult to really screw something up.

Thanks for all the tips and advice everyone. I been to All Best Buy ,Target, Kmart, TRU, EBgames, Game Stop, Game Crazy, FYE and Block busters in my county and some a joining ones and I didn't even find one.
Does anyone know if the link/guide also applies to the S controller? Are the innards the same as the duke controller? Is there a way to restore some tension to the analog sticks?

Yeah the S controller is very, very similar.
As for tension I don't think that would be possible without swapping the stick but crack it open and clean it and see how it performs. I was amazed how much better everything worked on my dukes ater a good cleaning.

I do not own the big controllers, only the Ss. I have opened them multiple times and it is very simple.

I've used one of those Hip Controllers before. They aren't bad for the price, but they don't feel as solid as the Controller S, especially the sticks.
I'd be interested to know if anyone has tried servicing their analog sticks. This site (http://www.stop4stuff.com/xbox/s-controller/) has a decent guide, but I dont know where you would get replacement parts for it.

Get a used controller S and clean it. Thats the best way to go.
The controllers are practically indestructable, so used ones always work, they just need a good cleaning.
