I just got this email.
It says exactly what is in the title.
Down to 4.5% on values under $25
Good for auction and fixed price

Nice, now USPS just needs to revert back to their old pricing structure.

If I'm reading that correctly, I guess thats good timing on my part, I just put up a few strategy guides, and some other random stuff a few hours ago that will end that time next week.
It says the 4.5% is on the first $25, so does that mean that everything above the $25 mark ($25.01 and up) would be subject to regular ebay closing costs?
So basically I'm asking if it would be anything that sold over $25, the 4.5% doesn't count at all... or does the 4.5% only get applied to the first $25 of the closing cost and then standard ebay fees apply... or am I just confusing my self here?

I don't know about the stuff that ends above $25. All the email said was exactly what I put. It wasn't the most helpful email. Im assuming everything gets slashed by some percentage.
Edit: Looking at the table, the only thing affected is the first $25. There is a link on the main page of ebay.
Edit: Iamamoogle. Stuff listed before today won't count.

Definitely good timing as I have a few things to put up myself!

Yeah, the e-mail they sent out wasn't the most informative...
I guess its actually bad timing on my part then, but oh well. I figured since my auctions would close between the dates listed in the e-mail it may still have a chance.
not too bad since I have 2 listing ending today. Might throw on more cheap stuff.

Sorry to spoil the party, but eBay is just playing tricks on us.
The deal is this: eBay has only cut the fee for the first stage (up to $25). The fee used to be 5.25%, and now it is 4.5%. Do the math, and you save - hold your breath - 18 whole cents MAXIMUM!! If you sell something for $12, you save about 9 cents, if you sell something for $25, you save 18 cents, if you sell something for $500, you save 18 cents, if you sell something for $4000 you save 18 cents, etc etc...
eBay seems to operate on the basis of "make people _think_ they are getting a good deal." The sad part is that they do it far too well.
