yea the internet was great back then. but to me the best in 93-96. because there was more info then ever before at that time, and nothing costed. everyone was willing to give you everything, then AOL made everyone think they could make money off the net, and it worked for a few years then it the big fall of the net.

As elitist as it's obviously going to sound, the WWW removed a huge gating factor for many users, and made the internet much more accessable, severely lowering the required level of skill and intelligence required to gain access.
It's like the leap in accessablility that happened when GUI's began to replace the command line.

Actually, what I found most amusing is the fact that they did not refer to it as "the internet", but merely "Internet".
