View Full Version : got the shaft at CC again with their deals?

well i went to circuit city today for their "if we dont have said game at 2pm, recieve 20$ gc." and well they said to me that there was a manufacturing problem at the gaming center where they get their games from, they and suposibly other CC's were not able to get the said game so they can not give out the game and or the GC.
one more thing, when i went thru their physical ad in the store i saw it said available TUESDAY at 2. is it tuesday or wednesday for this said deal
was i shafted again from this store? are there even more unwritten rules to this deal? or am i just being messed with.

i wouldnt be suprised if you really were laughing and probably really are laughing at me. hell i probably would too if i knew better.
im getting so fucking sick and tired of CC right now, i could have had 60 bux in gc's if i was just smarter about this stuff. god its freakin rediculous. well know i know my lesson and definitly have learned from it and i will not mess that up anymore.
I wouldn't have left the store until they gave me the card. Sounds like you did indeed "get shafted" by them.

I was at my local Circuit City today (not for the guarantee but to check out TVs and to see if they had PSP Guilty Gear Judgement -- they did :D)
Anyway, they had a sign at the registers saying that there was a manufacturing problem and the 2PM guarantee was no longer valid.
In one sense, I can see where they're coming from. But on the other hand, if they can't guarantee it, they shouldn't offer a guarantee. Duh.
If I had gone specifically for that, I'd be pissed.

This has happened other times they've done a deal like this. I seem to recall it happening either for New Super Mario Bros. or Twilight Princess, and hearing reports about it locally and here on CAG.
Has anyone actually SUCCEEDED in getting a gift card with this time guarantee thing?

I've actually never not succeeded. The employees at my CC are always quite friendly about the guarantees, and they've never given me even a word of protest about it. If there's not a line at customer service, I'm usually in and out of the store in just a few minutes.

Well considering this made it all over SD and FW, it's no suprise you couldn't get in on this deal. It was advertised all day yesterday on those sites that you could go there and pick up the $20 card for "free". It's no wonder they stopped this.

Hmmm...that I didn't know. And after going up and reading the OP's message again, it sounds like he was planning on doing the same thing.
Kinda good they didn't offer GC's for it, if everyone just went in there not wanting the game.

If you look at the bottom of the circular in tiny letters it says that the garantee only applies from 2pm to closing night of Tuesday so going there today wouldnt have qualified. I found a CC today that was clueless but the gave me the GC anyways. They WERE not supposed to according to the rule in the advertisement...
You didnt get shafted- you just didn't read the fine print.

well i went off from speedy's posts that he does with those weekly deals. it said wednesday that he types. do i go off what speedy says or what the physical add says
yea it was only good for yesterday.
